Wave have released their second album titled "State Of Mind" This album has a similar acoustic pop sound that their previous album had. These guys have a SoulDecision or BBMak sound, so if you like those groups, you could like this album. They have done an alright job here.

When looking at the recording quality of this album, the album has been recorded very well. Someone spent a bunch of money on this album to make sure everything was nice and crisp here. This is probably the best part of the album since it is so produced. With the instrumentation here, it is very basic and poppy. They have pretty standard everything on the album, and nothing is going to get you to go, wow listen to that playing. It does its job and thats about it.

Now onto the vocals and lyrics, the vocals on this album are pretty good as well. These guys can certainly sing, but it's very industry singing. They have the American Idol style of singing where it's pretty structured. They can sing, and they have really nice clear voices, just nothing really unique here. With the lyrics, the band sings songs about relationships and girls mostly. When this album came out, these were the big topics and targets the teenage girl who mostly listened to this kind of pop.  It is pretty bland, but hits their target audience.

If you are looking for a single to this album, give the song "That's How It Feels" your attention, as it is really the only good song on this album, and shows off the bands signature sound the best.

Wave have made their second album, and unfortunately it was a commercial flop. We can see why, as the songs mostly sound like fillers, hoping the hit single Thats How It Feels gets you to buy the album. We are not a big fan of this music or the album, and we don't feel like there is anything really different from their last album. Listen to this album to decide for yourself what you think of it. Magneta Lane have released their second album titled "Dancing With Daggers". This album has the same style and sound of their previous album. They have a typical Can Con sound to them, as a lot of bands are sounding like this from here. They have a similar sound to that of Tokyo Police Club, Metric, or even a Broken Social Scene, so if you like these bands, this album/artist could be for you. They have done a really good job on this one.

Looking at the recording quality of this album, the recording quality has been done to a little bit of a grittier, under produced quality. This is something that helps out with the bands style and sound though. They are going for a more raw, indie feel, and I think this quality helps achieve it. The vocals could be a little louder, and overall its pretty average , but it works. The Instrumentation on this album is nothing that going to blow you away, thats for sure, but these ladies can certainly play. There is nothing flashy in this category of the album, it is just good old playing, and this also works for a genre that doesn't really want any flash.

Now onto the vocals and lyrics, the vocals here have somewhat of a monotone sound to them. You can't really hear any emotion or happiness in the vocals, but she can sing, and sing well. We feel like the vocals and the music pair well with each other, and has a nice clear voice so you can her just what is being sung about. With the lyrics, the band sings about the struggles faced with trying to make dreams a reality, relationships, love, waiting for life to get better, and more. These songs have a fairytale feel to them, and its pretty interesting how they wrote like that. We feel like people will be able to get the meaning and relate to these songs if they listen a bit harder than a casual listener. These topics should work with their fans. We think they did a good job here.

If you are looking for a single to this album, give the song "Wild Garden" your attention, as this is the best song on the album, and it really shows off the continued sound the band has done here.

These ladies have continued on with their music, putting out their second album, and this one helps solidify the band in their sound. This gives them a bunch of stuff to pull from now, and can really give a good variety at shows. We are not particularly fans of this music or genre, but we can understand why this band has gotten to where they are. Listen to this album to decide for yourself what you think of it. Arcane Ghosts have released their debut album titled "Traveller". They have made an album that shows the band in a faster pop-punk kind of way. These guys have a similar sound to that of Calling All Captains, Citizen or even a Basement. If you like those bands, you could like these guys. They have done an not too bad job here.

When looking at the recording quality of this album, the album has been recorded to a pretty average level. When listening to some of the songs, things seem a little rough and unpolished. The vocal recording could be a little crisper and louder on here, it just sounds a little to far back in the mix. The instrumentation on this album isn't too bad. These guys can play, and they play pretty fast. There isn't really one thing that stands out in this department, just pretty alright playing for a young band on their first album.

Now onto the vocals and lyrics, the vocals on this album are not bad. You can certainly hear what the singer is singing, and what he is talking about. The thing is, the vocals could be louder at spots, and could be a little crisper. We certainly don't think he's a bad singer, just a little too fast and could be clearer in spots. With a little work, this could be pretty solid, not bad though. With the lyrics, the band goes for songs about shutting out the negativity, relationships, finding yourself, and more. These songs seem to have the type of subjects younger people who more commonly listen to this, are going to connect with. These song target their audience, and will bring people to this band. We think they have done a good job on the lyrics.

Arcane Ghosts have made an album that really shows off what the band is about, and gives people their first taste of this band. It also gives the band something to play shows with, and get the band rolling. Now this doesn't quite have a defined sound or direction, but hopefully on the next album, they will give a more definitive rock, pop-punk or indie sound. Atlantic Division have released their debut album titled "Home Opener". This album shows the band in a very pop punk way. This has a really young, underdeveloped pop punk sound, but it will get there. These guys have a similar sound to that of a July or a Bearings, so if you like those bands, you could like this one. 

When looking at the recording quality of this album, the album has a pretty decent quality to it. The vocals on this album could use a little work in the recording quality. They have a bit of a rough sound to them. This is alright for the first album from a band though. The instrumentation on this album is pretty average. There is nothing in this department that's really going to wow you. They can certainly play, but it is certainly not turning heads, it's just good old regular playing.

Now onto the vocals and lyrics, the vocals on this album are not the greatest. Their vocalist has a very generic voice and way of singing. This does hurt the band and any way of being unique, but he can sing and you can hear the lyrics. This is a positive so you can understand what the songs are about. With the lyrics, the band goes for songs all about relationships. This is something that seems to be pretty popular with pop punk bands. Having said that, their target audience will certainly be looking for songs with this topic. It does also help that this is pretty generic in songs, so they can hit a wide amount of people with them. Not bad all in all

Among Legends - Some Days

Among Legends have released their third album entitled "Some Days". This album has a bit of the same sound and style from their previous two albums. They have an Alkaline Trio or a Gaslight Anthem style to them, so if you like those bands, you could like this album. They have done an okay job here.

When looking at the recording quality of this album, it sounds like the music has been recorded pretty well. On the other hand, the vocals sound not quite as clear as the music. It is a bit harder to listen to when the two different qualities are fighting each other in the same song. The instrumentation on this album is pretty average as well. They aren't going to wow you with anything, but they can play at a moderate level, or go fast and sloppy if need be.

Now onto the vocals and lyrics, the vocals on this album are not the greatest. His raspy, almost scottish sounding voice just doesn't go with the type of music the band is making. He can sing, but his vocals voice and the way he sings, just ain't it. With the lyrics, these songs seem to have confusing topics to them. Pushing and fighting to be a straight edge kid. Going to school. The lyrics sound like they were forced and the singer couldn't get through writers block. all in all, not great. 

If you are looking for a song to listen to on this album, I wouldn't really suggest one. We do however give credit for the effort and trying, but we didn't like any of them.

Among Legends have made an album that followed along with what they were previously doing on their first two EPs . This gives them a couple extra songs to slide into their set when playing. Listen to these songs for yourself to get your own opinion about them.

Kottin Trip - Down E.P.

Kottin Trip have released their debut album titled "Down E.P." This album shows the band riding the line between Nu-Metal and Hard Rock. They have a similar sound to that of a Coal Chamber or or like earlier more raw Korn. If you like those bands, you could like this album. These guys have done an alright job here on this album. 

When looking at the recording quality of this album, the album has been recorded to a pretty raw, dirty and grungy sound. This seems pretty deliberate to get the style for the sound they are going for. With the instrumentation here, the album has pretty standard playing on it. There isn't really anything thats going to make you turn your head here, but these guys can play. Not bad.

Not onto the vocals and lyrics, the vocals on this album seem to be pretty average as a whole here. Now the thing with this style, the vocals were not meant to be super musical or sound like this amazing singer is singing it. They do get the job done and he can sing, thats what matters. With the lyrics, the band goes for songs about struggle, loss and relationships. These seem to be the standard subjects that the genre are known for. These lyrics hit the target audience pretty well. They have done a pretty good job here.

If you are looking for a single to this album, there isn't one. We suggest listening to "Bond Of Union". This songs sounds a lot like Korn and shows you the best of this album.

Kottin Trip have made a three song E.P. that shows off the ideas and things the band wants to do in their music. This really sounds like three different styles on each song. We hope that with the next release we get more of a direct path in the music, and they decide on a specific sound. This isn't bad and you can see they have the makings of something here. We can't wait to see what they come up with next, and if it follows more of a distinct sound. Listen to this album to decide for yourself what you think of it. They have since called it quits. A Rebel Few have released their debut album titled "As The Crow Flies". This album is one that shows off the band in a very dirty rock and metal way. They have that feel of being blue collar, east-enders, and it's portrayed through the music. These guys have a similar sound to that of bands like Hellyeah, Five Finger Death Punch, and even Texas Hippie Coalition. So if you are into bands like this, you could really like this album. They've done an alright job here.

When looking at the recording quality of this album, the album has been recorded in a pretty average quality. This does however help with the sound that they are going for. The grungy, dirty feeling of their music is felt with the bit rougher recording. We feel that this is just the right quality, so you get the bar band feel with it. With the instrumentation, the band is also pretty average in this particular element as well. Yes the band can pull off solos, but for the metal they are doing, it feels too much and over done. The rest of it has a very par outing as a whole. 

Now onto the vocals and lyrics, the vocals have a bit of a raspy, and grungy feel to them. They are however clear, and you can tell just what the singer is saying, so this heals get the meaning of the songs. One of the things though is, the singer seems to hold his words, at the end of every sentence. The reverberation at the end of every sentence just kills the authenticity on the songs. Just hold the note. He can certainly sing, and props to that for sure, we are just not into it.  With the lyrics, the band goes for songs about finding yourself, giving into temptation, travelling around and spending money carefree. These feel like very typical topics, and have some very broad way of saying what they want. This could help many people have their own interpretation of the songs, but also doesn't narrow it down to exactly one thing, time or place. All in all, the lyrics aren't bad though. 

If you are looking for a single to this album, give the song "Rebel Few" your attention, as this is the song the band decided to make a single, and show off their style and sound to the masses with. This should give you an idea of the band.

A Rebel Few have made a debut album that shows off the band, and gives you a dive into the band and their music for the first time. The album gives the band something to go on, and be able to start playing shows to people and start to build a fanbase. We feel that the band could do a bit better here, and we look forward to seeing what the band comes up with next. Debt Cemetary - Dig It Yourself

Debt Cemetary have released their debut three song EP. This album shows the band in a very fast, but melodic punk sound. They have something that fits in quite well with the typical accepted punk rock sound. These guys have a similar sound to that of Strung Out, Belvedere, or even a band like A Wilhelm Scream. If you like those bands, you could like this EP, so give it a listen. They have done a pretty good here on this album.

When looking at the recording quality of this album, the album has been recorded to a pretty solid level. Now the vocals on this album are done pretty well. It has a nice sound to it, and you can hear everything, we just wish the production was a tad bit better to get rid of the little fuzziness on the background of the vocals. Other than than that, not too bad.  With the instrumentation, the band has decided to go for music with really fast, punky riffs. These are pretty common in the punk scene and is a trick for guitarists to just play faster. We don't think the band is setting the world on fire with their playing, but it is decent, and they can certainly play. This is just some good regular punk playing

Now onto the vocals and lyrics. These vocals seem to fit right in with that punk vocal style. This isn't going to wow you and go up against the pop singers, but for what they are trying to do, these vocals fit well. You can certainly hear what they are saying, despite the fast sung lyrics. The one issue is, the vocals just have this feel that they could have been a little bit clearer, and a tad more produced to get the bit of rawness out from the background. With the lyrics, the band goes for songs about being sick of waiting for things to fall your way, and relationships. These seem to be pretty standard things for bands to talk about, however these are things that people who are into this type of punk music can get into. The lyrics here target punk fans and can get people to get behind them, so for that, good job. They have done a good job on these song.

If you are looking for a single to this album, give the song "When Life Gives You Dilemmas, Make Dilemonade" your attention, as this song give you just a little toned down, more melodic taste to their music, so you will be able to get into the rest of their music from this song. 

Debt Cemetary have made a debut album that shows off the style and sound the band wants to portray. This also give the band something to get them out and able to start playing shows with. Now three songs isn't that much, but its enough to do something and give a little taste of the band. We really like what they are doing here so far, and we can't wait to hear whats next from these guys. Give them a listen to decide for yourself what you think about them.

Anthem For Today have released their debut album, titled "A Little Louder." This album has a very generic feel for the christian rock band. The majority of these bands trying to broaden out, have an alternative pop rock sound to them, and its very prevalent on this album. These guys have a similar sound to that of a Hawk Nelson, or a Switchfoot, so if you like those bands, you could like this album. They have done a pretty good job here.

When looking at the recording quality of this album, the album has been recorded to a pretty decent standard. Now the vocals could be turned up a little, and be a bit clearer. Other then that, it has a decent sound to it. The instrumentation on this album is something that won't really turn your head or get you to take notice. This band is pretty average in this department. Not saying the band is bad or good here, just on par with most bands. They can play their instruments, and it sounds decent, so thats all you can ask for. 

Now onto the vocals and lyrics, the vocals on this album have been done pretty decently. He can certainly sing, and his vocals are nice and clear, so you can get his message of religion and being saved by it very well. He isn't going to wow you with his singing, but he gives the perfect strength, and range for the type of music he is going for. All in all, he's done a great job here. With the lyrics, the band goes for songs about their religion and views, as well as uplifting, bring your up and be strong songs. These guys have also getting away from the bad things in your life. All in all, they have a pretty uplifting album with a lot of positivity in the lyrics. We think they have done a really good job on the lyrics.

If you are looking for a single to this this album, give the song "A Little Louder" your attention, as this is the best song on the album, and it really gives you the best overall idea of what the album as a whole sounds like.

Anthem For Today have released a debut album that really shows off the sound and ideals they are about with this offering. This album also gives them a start and something to get them playing shows. We feel like these guys have done a solid job on this album and we think they have something that could keep the ball rolling. We are looking forward to hearing whats next. Choices have released their debut album titled "Paradise Lost." This album shows the band in a very melodic metal way. They have a sound thats hard to say just exactly where they fit. These guys have such melodic parts, that it's almost too much at times, but then the music sounds post-hardcore for sure. This band has a similar sound to that of a more melodic In Flames or Erra without the screamed vocals, so if you like that music, you could like this album. The guys here have done a pretty decent job on these songs.

When looking at the recording quality of this album, the album has been recorded very well, and has a super clear, crisp sound to the songs. The producer did a really good job on these songs. With the instrumentation on this album, the guys go straight into showing you what they can do. "Benevolent" is an instrumental track that shows off the bands guitar skills, and lets you know this band has skills for sure. 

Now onto the vocals and lyrics, with the vocals, the singer decided to go for a more melodic touch here. At times the vocalist goes a little too melodic, and it lacks some harshness because of it. On the song "Mended" when the vocalist starts singing, it is hard to catch what he is saying, and it ends up sounding like a jumbled mess for a few bars. Other than this, the vocals are really solid and you can certainly tell he can sing. For the lyrics, the band goes for songs about relationships, depression, getting better, and fighting through. This album has a theme with it, starting with an ending relationship and ending with getting through ang thriving. It's pretty cool how you can listen through on this journey the singer goes through while listening to the whole album. They have done a good job on the lyrics.

If you are looking for a single to this album, give the song "Coming To Life" your attention, as it is the best song on the album, and really encapsulates what this whole album is about. 

Choices have made an album that is pretty decent, and can be listened to by the casual or new metalcore listener, an the metalcore enthusiast looking for a break from all the screams. All in all, this is a good album, introduces you to the band, and gives them something to get them out to playing shows. Give this album a listen to decide for yourself what you think of it. Crown Lands have released their debut album titled "Mantra". This album shows off the band in a very old school rock way. These guys sound like they just came out of the 70's with their sound and style. We would say this band has a similar sound to that of Led Zeppelin, Rush and even Black Sabbath at times, so if you like those artists, you could really like this band. They have done a pretty good job here.

When looking at the recording quality of this album, the album has been recorded with the 70's in mind. In that, saying that the songs don't have everything crisply recorded, or to an over produced quality. This helps with the sound they are trying to get to. The instrumentation here, is really good considering the band is just a duo. These guys can certainly play, and when you find out it's just two members, it totally changes things. On top, the guitarist can really play, and you hear some decent drumming as well.

Now onto the vocals and lyrics, the vocals on this album are done quite well. Their singer can sing, and his talent is showcased all over thew songs on this album. You can hear the holding of notes and being in tune while he belts out parts of the songs. Very well done vocals. With the lyrics, the band goes for songs that are a little out there with having to struggle with yourself, relationships calling you out, hippy and being with earth, and more. These songs are a little more in the style of a band from the time period this band is trying to feel as. They have done a good job in getting these songs to appeal to a classic rock fan.

If you are looking for a single to this album, give the title song "Mantra" your attention, as it is the best song on the album, and it really encapsulates what the band is trying to do with the music.

Crown Lands have released their debut album and this one really shows you what the band wants to sound like and where they want to take their music. Now unfortunately there is nothing new here, since they are throwing it back to an older time, but they do a great job at it. We think there is a market here, and yes, people who don't embrace older music, will not be into this. This still sounds good, and will generate interest for sure. Listen to this album to decide for yourself what you think about it.

Elias have released their debut album titled "Hope Is Born Again". This album shows the band having a very contemporary christian music sound. This is a pretty typical sound and style for religious artists to be singing in. These guys have a similar sound to that of an Article One, Jars Of Clay or even The Afters, so if you are into those artists, you could really like this album. They have done a pretty decent job here. 

When looking at the recording quality of this album, the album has been recorded to pretty solid level.  The sound is nice and clear, with quite a crisp recording to them. They have done a very good job here, and it shows throughout the entire album.  The instrumentation here is pretty standard and basic. With that being said, it isn't bad, it's actually quite good, but there is nothing on this album that is really going to wow you or blow you away in this aspect. These are just nice, solid, straightforward played songs. Good job overall.

Now onto the vocals and lyrics, the vocals on this album are done very well. When listening to the songs, you can tell that Elias is very talented and can really sing. He has a very clear and on point with his note. This is however the typical singing style you expect within the religious musical community. The only thing we can point out on the negative, and it isn't a big deal, is we wish it was a little more unique. Other than that, great job on the vocals. Elias Dummer's songwriting was put on display with this album. He proved he can write songs, and write them well. This is show with the song "Faithful Forever" which won a Covenant Award. He has a gift for songwriting and you can see it, with his songs about faith, and your relationship with your faith throughout the whole album.  

If you are looking for a single to this album, give the song "Faithful Forever" your attention, as it shows off Elias songwriting skills, and give you a decent look into what the rest of the album sounds like.

Elias have made a debut album that shows off the sound and style the band want to go with, and give you an insight into their music for the first time. 11 Minutes Away have released their debut album titled "Picking Up The Pieces." This album is one that sounds like that faster punk rock from the 90's. they have a fast paced punch and really bring that more traditional punk out. These guys have a similar sound to that of an MXPX, Slick Shoes and even The Ataris, so if you like these bands, you could really like this album. They have done a decent job here. 

When looking at the recording quality of this album, the album has been recorded to an alright standard.  It has a rough punk standard that seems to go along with artists debut albums for the most part. With a clearer and more crisp recording, it seems like it could be enjoyed more, but it's alright for a first album. The instrumentation on this album isn't too much to write home about either. Yes the band can play, and they can play fast, there isn't really much here to show the band is doing anything that really separates them from other bands in the genre, or really makes you turn an ear. Not band though, they can play.

Now onto the vocals and lyrics, the vocals on this album are not the greatest. This has an early blink sound to the vocals, which isn't bad but more like a starting point. The backing vocals are certainly not as strong, which is pretty noticeable. You can hear that there is some potential here, but as of right now, it needs work. With the lyrics, the band goes for songs about relationships, girls, etc. This seems to be the basis of most of their songs. Those lyrics are a little cliche, and what a lot of bands are singing about, but since this is a first album, it's kind of expected. Hopefully with the next album they get a little more complex in this area.

11 Minutes Away have written an album that really shows off their pure punk sound, and give you an idea of the direction and sound of the band. They have done a pretty good job all in all. We can't wait to see what the band comes up with next. Give this album a listen to decide for yourself what you think about it. They have since called it quits (R.I.P.)

Fuss - About Nothing

Fuss have released their debut album which is titled "About Nothing." This album shows the band in a very Indie and all over the place way. The songs here seem to be in many directions and it's hard to know whats going on in them at times. These guys have a similar sound to that of  bands like Pup, Pkew Pkew Pkew and maybe even a Born Ruffians, so if you like those artists, you could really like this band. They have done an alright job here.

When looking at the recording quality, the record has been recorded to a not so great quality. The album is listenable, but it has a very rough and from far away sound when you listen to it. This feels more like a couple songs just thrown together to have recorded rather than an actual full offering from the band. The instrumentation on the album isn't bad, but it isn't going to wow you either. They have done just a little more than average here, so it's just good overall playing. 

Now onto the vocals and lyrics, the vocals on this album are a but hard to hear, due to the quality, but you can tell he can sing. The singer and sing, and he is pretty clear, so with a better recording, you could get everything from this album. Not bad on the vocals honestly. With the lyrics, the album just sounds a bit too rough to fully get what the songs ae about, so we can't grasp the fully experience of the album.

Fuss have put out a four song album that introduces you to the band and their style of music. They have done an okay job here, but it is pretty much just a "hey this is us" sort of offering. We are hoping to hear more so that we can say yes this band has it or not. As for us, we are undecided on the band with this effort. Listen to this album to decide for yourself what you think.
