Serial Joe have released their fourth album titled "(Last Chance) At The Romance Dance". With this album, the band decided to take a different approach to their music, and it objectively flopped. The band was a harder rock, almost nu-metal band, and with this album, they decided to go more of a pop rock/alternative sound for this album. This album has more of a Wide Mouth Mason sound to it, so if you like(d) them, you might like this album.

Being that this is an Aquarius released album, it has a really good sound quality and was recorded to a professional standard. Picking Corey Macfadyen to produce the record could of also hurt as he hasn't done too much in that department either, but it doesn't sound bad. The band has had three previous albums, so there should be any problem in the paying part here. Nothing out of the ordinary was added, and they didn't forget how to play. It's a pretty alright album in this category all in all.

Now onto the vocals and lyrics. Now Ryan on this album has his signature raspy voice on here, and he sounds solid. The vocals are clear, you can understand everything he is saying, and it isn't too bad.
With the lyrics, the band went for songs about girls, relationships, and feeing about others. This is pretty typical of bands, especially younger bands, and it seems to be the same theme throughout the album. We don't feel that is a band thing though, people connect with that.

If you are looking for a single to this album, give the song "Completely" a listen as it is the hit from this album, and gives you the best idea of the sound and style the band was going for on this record.

Serial Joe have made an album that just doesn't seem to have the same edge or rock as hard as their other albums. This was an attempt at being a little more commercial, and it flopped with critics and fans. This isn't a bad album, it is just objectively the album of theirs that received the least fan fare. Listen to this album to decide for yourself what you think of it. They have since called it quits (R.I.P.)
