BadBadNotGood have released their debut EP titled "BBNG". This album shows the band off in a sort of Instrumental Hip Hop Jazz way. Don't worry, if you haven't heard of that, we hadn't either until we listened to this band. The band seems to have a groove in their music that just seems to fit well with that hip hop style and a background someone could sing hip hop over. They have a similar sound to that of St, Germain or Robert Glasper Trio. So if you know or like those artists, you could like this album. They have done a good job.

When looking at the recording quality of this album, the album seems to sound quite well for just being a first release. These guys seem to have a standard, and want you to hear them in the best light. The instrumentation on this album is pretty decent too. They use a lot of different instruments that you aren't used to hearing in traditional music. The band plays all over the place, but thats done in jazz a bunch, so nothing here is really head turning, but they all play well. 

Since there are no vocals or lyrics because it is instrumental, we'll skip that. However the band does have some time signature things that are a bit different, and they make listening to it a little interesting. Being one that doesn't really listen to jazz, it's hard to remember that you have to pay closer attention to the music and can not be a passive listener to get the full experience. This is noticed when you hear the band play harder or softer to express emotion. 

If you are looking for a single to this song, there isn't really one, so we suggest "Untitled 63 - Nightmare - Yonkers" as there are two versions of the song on this album. This should give you an idea of the band and their album,

BadBadNotGood have released a debut EP that shows you what they are about, and how they want to sound. You can tell they play the crap out of the keys at times, and really the portrayal of their music. We think they have done a pretty good job here. 333 have released their debut album which just so happens to be self titled. This album has a mix of genres in it, followed by a 33 second electronic song between each track. Here we have a band that isn't quite sure what they want to do or what sound they want to have so as being a young band, they don't have their sound sorted. This makes it hard to pick out similar bands to give an idea of what they sound like. They have done an alright job on this album. When looking at the recording quality of this album, the album has been recorded to just an okay standard. The album has a bit of a raw and in the back feel to all the music here. It just needs some better overall recording to bring it up just a notch. On the instrumentation side, it's not bad but could use a more, but as it is just a two piece, they do quite well. Now onto the vocals and lyrics, the vocals here are not bad, they seem very like all the other alternative artists, it just has no uniqueness to be able to say it is one artist over another. With the lyrics, the band seems to choose very typical topics to sing about, such as girls and living life. They also sing about not looking at what could and live in what is. Not bad lyrics. If you are looking for a single to this album, there isn't one, so just pick a song and give it a listen to get the feel of the album. 333's debut album is one that we just couldn't grasp as it seemed to go all over the place in genre and we just couldn't get into the jazz. We hope to see what is next though. Now they just need to get out there and bring the music to people. Listen to this album to decide for yourself what you think of it.

Emily Mac has released her debut album titled "Live And Raw". This album is very piano driven while also being very soulful. Emily has a big voice that carries her music quite well on her debut album. She has a voice that would fit someone in the style of a Diana Krall. She has done a pretty good job on this album. When  looking at the recording quality of this album, the album has been recorded fairly well but it seems to be missing something. This album doesn't really have any other instruments to make the sound bigger, which really hurts the album and makes it have a gaping hole when listening to it. Now onto the vocals and lyrics, the vocals of Emily are quite good, she can certainly sing. Along with the singing, her lyrics seem to carry as well, she has written good lyrics that are able to relate with. If you are looking for a single for t his album, there isn't one, so just pick a song and give it a listen to get the feel of this album. Emily Mac has done a good job on this album for what it is. We hope that as she progresses, she can get more people behind her to make the music fuller in sound. Listen to this album to decide for yourself what you think of it.

Television Rd have released their debut album titled "Character Splatters". This album hows the band in a weird light, as it'd not really indie, not really jazz, but sort of a weird in between. The band does know how to play their and the quality is decent, but the style is somewhat odd. They are however due credit as this something different, and it is unique, but it could use some progression to get their sound totally refined. One song to listen to would be "Fry The Hound" this song exemplifies what this album is all about. Overall, this is a good effort for a band on a debut album, Give this album a listen and tell us what you think of it.

Black Lady Soul have released their debut self-titled album to the world. This album has a different sound and its something that fans could be unsure of. This band for sure is for an older crowd and does not that the appeal in what they are doing, to get many younger fans. The band is quite talented, but its just not a way to get noticed with this. The song "The Fall" is their single, and right away when you listen you can feel a weird vibe where you don't exactly know what to think of them. That song does go along with the rest of the album though. Overall, its just an OK effort. Give them a listen and decide for yourself though.
