Farewell To Freeway have released their third album titled "In These Wounds." This album really takes what the band has been doing a brings it up a notch. These guys have really hit on something with this record. They sound like an Atreyu or even a Unearth, so if you like those artists, you could like this band. They have done a great job on this album.
When looking at the recording quality of this album, the album has been recorded to a fairly decent level. The instrumentation is not super crazy, but the band plays well and has a great sound.
Now onto the vocals and lyrics, the vocals on this album could be a bit better, but the screams are really solid and we really like how heavy they are. Now the singer isn't bad by any means, we still like it for sure. You can understand almost everything here and the singer is quite clear so we like that. With the lyrics, the band goes for messages of pain inside wounds unhealed, love, lies, relationships and just trying to get someone to listen to you. These are a lot of the things people end up dealing with when going through rough times with someone, so we can for sure relate.
If you are looking for a single to this album, give the song "In These Wounds" your attention as it is the best, and title track to the album. It will give you the best feel for the album as well.
Farewell To Freeway have made an album that continues on with what they were doing, but pushes it up a level and really brings it to heights. We think the band did a great job on this album and we can't wait to see what the band can do with these songs in a live setting. We dig this album. Listen to this album to decide for yourself what you think of it. They have since called it quits (R.I.P.)
