Bad Words - Eat Your Heart Out

1. 900 Bucks
2. Integrity
3. Lost And Awake

Bad Words have released their debut album titled "Eat Your Heart Out." This album is a very punk record and follows your standard, what is considered regular punk music. They have that hard, fast, in your face feel of punk that will just get you going. These guys have a similar sound to that of an earlier Bad Religion or a Social Distortion, if you are into those artists, you could really like this album. They have done an alright job on this album. When looking at the recording quality of this album, the album has been recorded to the perfect punk standard, not to polished, but not too raw that it sounds like junk. The instrumentation on this album is nothing special, you have heard this all before, that isn't to say the band can't play though. Now onto the vocals and lyrics, the vocals could use a little work to make them just a little more in tune and melodic. The duel vocals are not the greatest, they are too on top of each other and just put an unnecessary noise on the vocals. Their vocalist can certainly sing though and it goes well with their punk style. With the lyrics, the band goes for messages of keeping your integrity intact, having to fight someones crap and how you deal with it, as well as friendships going to waste. We feel that a lot of people go through these things at some point or another in life, so they can get it. If you are looking for a single to this album, give the song "900 Bucks" your attention as this song really starts off the album well and really has a punk theme to the song. This one also gives you a good idea of the other two songs here. Bad Words have made a debut sort of welcome to album that has nothing to hide, no bow or ribbons and gets right to the point of telling how this band is going to be. They've done a pretty good job of a debut album and we hope to hear a little more on the next release. Would love to see them get out and play a bit more too. Listen to this album to decide for yourself what you think of it.
