Out Of My League have released their debut album titled "Resented." This album has a very hardcore feel to it. The band has decided that they want a more brutal feel to their hardcore and it really brings the heaviness. These guys have a similar sound to a Stick To Your Guns or even The Plot In You, so if you like these bands, you will like this album. They have done a really good job on this album. When looking at the recording quality of this album, the album has been recorded very well here and has a solid sound. The instrumentation on the album is what you would expect from a typical hardcore band. Now onto the vocals and lyrics, the vocals have a bit of a stressed scream feel to them, but he is still clear enough that you can get what he is singing about. Decent vocals overall. Now with the lyrics, the band goes for messages of being a coward, marked out and wishing you hadn't made the decision you did. Now their final song is about recovering from all of that. This is nice to have a switch song at the end while the rest seem to be all about the bad things and hopefully are therapeutic for the band. Everyone goes through hard times, you are not the only one, is an overall message for the listener on this album. If you are looking for a single to this album, give the song "Blind" your attention as it really shows off the skills the band has ad well as their brutality. This song also happens to feature the singer of Falsifier. Out Of My League have made a debut album that is solid and really welcomes you to the band with a huge bang. We are quite impressed with this album and we can't wait to see what else is in store for this band. Now they just need to play all of Southern Ontario more. Great job.
