The Vermicious Knid have released their second album titled "Smalltown Devotion/Hometown Compulsion." This album follows along the same lines as their debut, with a sound that is quite the Emo sound. They have a similar sound to that of Moneen and Brand new, so if you are into those bands, you could enjoy this album. When looking at the recording quality of this album, it has been recorded to a fair standard, but the album as a whole, including the vocals could use a bit of an upgrade to get a clearer and louder sound. The instrumentation on the album isn't bad, the band can play. Now onto the vocals and lyrics, as mentioned before, the vocals are a little quiet and could be louder and more upfront but overall they are not bad. The vocalist is clear and you can hear everything he is saying. With the lyrics, the bands goes the route of more having you interpret what the meaning is. They want you to get whatever you think the songs are about from it and read your own ideas. On the other side, they have song about your demons and that sort of thing. If you are looking for a single to this album, there isn't one, so just pick a song and give it a listen to get the idea of the album. The Vermicious Knid have made an album that shows off really what they were trying to do last album in a bigger way. They have made something people can get behind and fits the style of the time. Listen to this album to decide for yourself what you think of it. They have since called it quits (R.I.P.)
