Of Concepts And Kings have released their debut album titled "Cease Being." This album is a force full of heavy riffed hardcore that makes you want to move. It has that big sound to get you right into their music. This band does have some similarities to that of  After The Burial and In The Midst Of Lions so if you are into those bands, this could be an album you would really like. They have done a pretty good job on this effort here. When looking at the recording quality of this album, the band has not done too bad of a job on it. This has a perfect dirty, metal sound. The instrumentation on this album is a little standard, but on the first album that is okay, maybe the next one they will progress a little further. Now onto the vocals and lyrics, the vocals here are very heavy but at times can feel a little forced. He can certainly scream, but also have the lyrics still prominent and listenable. Good job on the vocals. With the lyrics, the band has chosen to go the route of brutal, angry lyrics talking about subjects like being a nobody, people screwing you over and and how downright ugly people can be. These are subjects band in this style of music sing about and they come across just right for the listener. If you are looking for a single to this album, there isn't one, so just pick a song and give it a listen to get the idea of the album. Of Concepts And Kings have made a debut, welcome to album that really hits and it gives the listener something to look forward to down the road, as you know the band will only get better. Overall not a bad album. Listen to this album to decide for yourself what you think of it. They have since called it quits (R.I.P.)
