Vesperia have released their debut album which is their demo. This one really shows the band in that European metal way, like a band from Finland or Sweden. These guys have that very brutal sort of viking metal feel to them and it certainly is something that doesn't appeal to every metal fan, but it does have its place.This band has a similar sound to that of Wintersun or a Moonsorrow, so if you like those bands, you could like these guys. They have done an alright job on this. When looking at the recording quality of this album, the album has been recorded okay, it could use a little work to make it hit you harder though. The bands instrumentation is pretty solid though. Now onto the vocals and lyrics, the vocals have been done pretty solid, he has a kind of Dani Filth sound to him which is pretty cool and then the secondary vocals are pretty clear, while sounding vikingish here. With the lyrics, they seem to be very intricate and things the more metal, sword loving, long hair guys like and can appreciate, like slaves, winter and the land. if you are looking for a single to this album, there isn't one, so just pick a song and give it a listen to get the feel of the album. Now this album isn't going to appeal to everyone, but those guy who really like this type of metal will be into this. They have done a good job and it really has that feel, but it comes from a Canadian band. Listen to this album to decide for yourself what you think of it.
