Kink have released their debut album titled "Fine Lines." This album is somewhat of a welcome to for the band, so what you can get a little inside the female fronted duo's head and see what way they are going with their music. They have a sound that is somewhat similar to Courage My Love without the heaviness, or Tuuli, so if you like those guys, you could like Kink. When looking at the recording quality of this album, the album has been recorded fairly decently here but there could be a little more work on getting the lyrics a bit louder, especially the backgrounds in parts. With the instrumentation on this album,, it is quite average, but thats what you would expect from a debut. Now onto the lyrics and vocals, the vocals could use a bit of work, as some of the time in sections, it sound a little off key, while the lyrics could use a bit more as well to get the songs more meaningful. If you are looking for a single for this album, give the song "In My Eyes" our attention as this is the best song on the album and it really gives you the best example of the feel of the album, along with pretty decent lyrics. Kink have done a pretty good job on their debut album here. We are hoping to see them play more shows and maybe with the progression, they could get a little more of a sound that is less pop rock. Listen to this album to decide for yourself what you think of it.
