Stone River has released their debut album titled "The Valley Of The Butterflies." This album is a welcome to for the band and shows them in a very throwback, classic rock way. These guys are not bad, but as we say, they are pretty much a grungy 60's, 70's revival band. When looking at the recording quality of the album, the album has been recorded fairly decently and the instrumentation is pretty decent here, but it is what you'd expect when listening to classic rock. Now onto the lyrics and the vocals, the lyrics could use a little work to be more meaningful but the vocals here a quite good, which is nice to see. Stone River have done a really good job at making themselves fit in with the new classic rock revival. We do hope however that the band tries to progress a little and make their own version of the very out played classic rock genre. We are also hoping this band gets out there more in the form or playing shows, so that the name can reach more people. Listen to this album to decide for yourself what you think of it.
