Atom & The Volumes have released their debut self titled album. This album is one that seems to be pretty indie while keep a bit of a more rock feel to some of their songs. The band has that feel though of that oversaturated indie rock that everyone and his brother are doing right now. These guys have done a good job on this album. When looking at the recording quality of the album, the album sounds pretty solid but the instrumentation is on the average side here. Now onto the vocals and lyrics, the vocals are pretty good here but again, the lyrics could use a little more meaning to them and less gaps between words. If you are looking for a single for this album, give the song "Pointed Pins" your attention as it is the best song on the album and gives you the best feel of what the overall album is like. Atom and The Volumes have done a pretty good job on this album and its nice to see a band come right out with a decent album. We do hope however that they keep progressing and make a bit of their own style as well as play shows, the more the better. Listen to this album to decide for yourself what you think of it.
