Adriiana - Adriiana

1. Dancing In London
2. We Are Young
3. Light Me Up
4. If Only
5. What Will We Be
6. Love Alive
7. He's Trouble
8. My  Life
9. Mr. Wrong

Adriiana has released her debut album which is self-titled. This album shows the young artist having a very industry controlled pop style and sound. Her music sounds very upbeat and happy. The music is also catchy. She has a similar sound to that of a Victoria Duffield or Alyssa Reid. Being Adriiana is also a graduate of The Next Star show from YTV, it seems logical that these artists would have a similar sound. Adriiana has done a pretty good job here.

When looking at the recording quality of this album, the album has been recorded very well. This album has an almost overproduced feel to it, as it is very poppy, very clean and has electronic beats in the background. This is pretty standard for a pop album to sound, and they did a good job. The instrumentation on this album is pretty lacking. With this being a pop album, it's pretty much all produced beats that she is singing over. We wish there were more real instruments in the music, but such is pop.

Now onto the vocals and lyrics, the vocals on this album are pretty decent I'll say. Adriiana can certainly sing, and she shows it off on this album. On this album, she shows how she can hit the high notes, and hold her notes. Adriiana has some talent, and its nice to see she's at this stage already in her young career. With the lyrics Adriiana goes for songs about relationships, boys, life and more. These are the type of songs you expect a pop artist, especially as young as she is, to be singing about. We think shes done well, but maybe with a little more experience, more complicated songs can come. Good job though.

If you are looking for a single to this album, give the song "We Are Young" your attention, or "Dancing In London" as these really show off the sound and style of this album.

Adriiana has made a debut album that really shows off her singing and talent. This gives her a starting base, and introduces her fans from TV, into more of her own style and thing outside. She has done a good job, and we can't wait to see what else she comes up with. Listen to this album to decide for yourself what you think about it.

B4-4 - B4-4

1. Really Gotta Want It
2. Ball & Chain
3. That's How I Know
4. Go Go
5. Everyday
6. Smile
7. Get Down
8. Don't Let The Sun Catch You Cryin'
9. How Did We End Up Here
10. You've Got A Friend
11. Savin' For A Rainy Day
12. Endlessly

Do you remember spiky hair with frosted tips? How about coming home from school and watching music videos on much music? When music was all young male and female pop groups with boybands being all the rage. Then you may remember the band B4-4, who aptly named their band this so when you went into the music store, their album came right before Backstreet \boys. People still go to the music store and flip through cds don't they? Well anyways, here is the debut album from the band who got similar comparisons to Backstreet Boys and O-Town. This album did quite well actually and still has those gems you remember. When looking at the recording quality of this album, it certainly has the overproduced, clean pop sound that was prominent in the day.  Although the instrumentation is somewhat poor here, it was all about the singing and dancing back then with these groups. Now with the vocals here, the band has done a really good job at singing and they can certainly sing in unison. Really great singing voices here, nothing too much else to say about it, nothing bad. Lyrics, are something that are not a huge deal with this band. The lyrics are more "hey girl I like you" or "omg we broke up" nothing to fancy and hits their teen female demographic pretty well. For a single on this album, you can listen to either, "Go Go" or "Get Down" you should remember at least one of those, and they really show the best of what these guys have to offer.  B4-4 are a typical boyband that hopefully you still remember. Who knows, maybe a comeback or they will pop up again somewhere, you never know. So with that, If you get down on me, I'll get down on you. listen to this album to decide what you think of it. They have since called it quits (R.I.P.)

Anastasia A - Something Inside You

1. I'm Ready
2. Save You
3. Something Inside You
4. Light It Up
5. Something Happens
6. Grand Prize

Anastasia A has released her debut album titled "Something Inside You." When listening to this album, you get the feeling its very pop, like an album you'd  hear on family channel or something geared to a lot younger people. Listening to this makes me think of Victoria Duffield or someone of that nature, so if you like her, you could like this also. When looking at the recording quality of this album, the album has been recorded pretty well, but the overall package is very average. Now onto the lyrics and vocals, the vocals are pretty good as well, she can sing, but the lyrics are very pop star feel, which in the grand scheme of things, doesn't have much substance to it. If you are looking for a single for this album, give the song "Something Inside You" your attention as it is the most catchy and it shows off the feel of the album the best. Anastasia A has a decent start with what she is trying to do, but hopefully with some progression it will have more of that pop feel where every song is catchy and makes you want to listen to it. Good job on a first album, now just get out there and let people know who you are by playing shows.

Big Lonely - Short Stories With Recurring Characters

http://www.facebook.com/biglonelyband

1. Poseidon
2. JJ-13
3. Goody Two Shoes
4. Elliot Hopper's Ghost

Big Lonely have released their debut EP titled "Short Stories With Recurring Characters." This album shows that these guys are doing a sort of indie rock and surf rock kind of thing on here. The album has a pretty decent sound on it and they give you a big tinny sound with the guitars. These guys have gotten a pretty good sound with the recording of this album and they can  play adequately on these four songs. The only thing about this album is that it sounds like every other band out there at this time. They have nothing really distinct about their music, which makes them fall into the background. A song to listen to on this album would be "Elliot Hopper's Ghost" as it has a bit more of a happy feel with the guitars and gives you a decent idea of the other three songs. Overall, the band needs to do something or add to the sound to make it stand out more, but they are on the right track with sound and playing , look into them.

Ben Zamora - Boardwalk

1. I Wanna Be Your Man
2. In The Clouds
3. One Night
4. Press Rewind
5. Miss You
6. What Would I Do

Ben Zamora has come out and released his debut solo album "Boardwalk." People may remember him as the singer/bassist from the hardcore band Horizons, but he's decided to step away from that scene,  but the guitar down and just sing. The first thing noticed is, this is definitely the opposite end of music from Horizons. When listening to these songs, you can hear that he is singing over a drum machine or computer which brings down the integrity of the music. Another thing you can see when you examine the lyrics is that they are all about girls, so again typical pop lyrics. You can also hear a bit of a quality thing with the songs, they could be a little better, but it is still good. However, the songs here are pretty catchy and have sort of a guilty pleasure feeling to them. The song "One Night" is a very catchy and the song that stands out the m ost on this album, so give that one your attention first. With some  progression and tweaking with the music this could work, so don't count him out.

A Tribe Called Red - A Tribe Called Red

1. Electric Pow Wow Drum
2. Look At This
3. Red Skin Girl (ATCR Remix)
4. Woodcarver
5. Good To Go
6. Shottas (Munchi SocaCore Remix)
7. Native Puppy Love
8. MoombahWow
9. Intertribal No.1
10. General Generations

A Tribe Called Red's debut album is something that has a strange sound compared to the other bands you listen to. Being as these guys are of aboriginal descent, they have added a lot of the aboriginal people's sounds and instruments into their music. This give the music a sound that is quite different then what is currently out there in the mainstream right now. Give this album a listen and give your own opinion because this is something that is hard
