Ivory Hours have released their third album titled "Morning Light." This album really goes deeper into that indie rock sound, but with a catchiness to it. This album has a great sound to it. As another note to the band, they have become a trio here and lost the female partner from the last albums. They have a similar sound to that of Tokyo Police Club, Chvrches or an Arkells, so if you are into those bands, you could really like this album. They have gone a good job here. When looking at the recording quality of this album, this album sounds fantastic, and it really helps to keep your focus on the catchiness of the songs, rather than the quality. The instrumentation on the album is pretty standard here. Being a three piece, they can't really go too crazy, but they make it work, while keeping the music at a good level. Now onto the vocals and lyrics, the vocals on this album are quite good as well. He has a nice, clear, and reaches when it needs to. You can hear everything he is saying, so you get the meaning to every song. With the lyrics, the band sings about love, relationships, being alone, and just the connecting of two individuals. We feel that a lot of bands tackle this subject in their music. These lyrics are very straight forward and allow the listener to get the meanings very quickly. Good job here. If you are looking for a single to this album, give the song "Warpaint" your attention, as this is the single from the album, and we think best shows the overall album in one song. Ivory Hours have certainly taken their music up a notch with this album, and look to be finally hitting the upper part of the unsigned bands here. We just hope to see this band tour more and get the name out to everyone. Great job overall on this album. Listen to this album to decide for yourself what you think of it.
