High Holy Days have released their second album titled "It's Not Ok." This album is the long awaited second release from the band. It was released nine years after their debut. The album sounds just like a continuation of their previous album, with the same sound and style. They have a similar sound as Theory Of A Deadman or a Bleeker Ridge, so if you are into those bands, you could like this album. When looking at the recording quality of the album, this album has a pretty solid sound to it for sure. The album sounds just like it should have been released on roadrunner . We like how it sounds. The instrumentation is however nothing much to look at, the guys can certainly play, but its nothing you haven't heard from a hundred other alternative rock bands. Now onto the vocals and lyrics, the vocals on this album are done pretty well. They are nice, clear and you can tell just what he is singing about. We feel he has a pretty decent voice here, talented for sure. With the lyrics, the band goes for songs about life being hard, trying to get through things, what ifs, wasting your time, and pain. This is pretty much the standard for most rock songs, but we think they did a good job not just blatantly saying them right out. Not a bad job here. If you are looking for a single to this album, as this is an unreleased album, this one doesn't have a single. Just pick a song and give it a listen to get the feel of the album. High Holy Days have released their follow up album, and it holds up to the same line that their other music does. We wish this would have helped see the band playing more and getting out of north bay, but it is still cool to see what else they were doing. Listen to this album to decide for yourself what you think of it. They have since called it quits (R.I.P.)
