Atria have released their debut album titled "New World Nightmare." This album is one that has an earlier metalcore feel to it. These guys go for the pretty common screams mixed with cleans in their vocals. The band has a similar sound to that of a Slipknot, Trivium, we even hear DED in there as well. So if you like any of these bands, you could really like this album. They have done a solid job here. When looking at the recording quality of this album, the lbum has been recorded to a fairly decent standard, especially for a debut very unknown band. The Instrumentation is nothing unlike a band you would find playing this style of metalcore, but it is solid, although nothing you haven't heard before. Now onto the vocals and lyrics, the vocals on this album are done very well. The screams are pretty strong, while still being able to tell what they are singing about. Their clean vocals are really solid and have musical, great tone to them. We definitely think the highlight of the album is the vocals. With the lyrics, the band goes for songs about destroying your world, living a better life, questioning your decisions, and more. These are not the typical topics you hear from bands these days, but it is nice to see a band get away from "the formula" many bands use today. If you are looking for a single to this album, give the song "Someone With Me" your attention, as it is the best song on the album and really gives you a good idea of the rest of the album. Atria have made a debut album that screams early 2000's metal, but that isn't always a bad thing. They do it quite well and have a solid debut effort to show for it. Hopefully now the band can get out there and show off their music to as many people as possible. Listen to this album to decide for yourself what you think of it.
