Dinosaur Bones have released their debut album. They have decided to self title it. This album has quite an indie rock feel to it. These guys really seem to be going for that rock style that is quite popular at this time in the Canadian, especially Ontario rock scene. The album has a similar sound to that of a Born Ruffians or a Tokyo Police Club, so if you are into either of those bands, you could really like this album. They have done a pretty good job on the album. When looking at the recording quality of this album, the album has been recorded quite well actually, especially for a debut album. The instrumentation on this album is pretty standard. Nothing on this album is going to wow you, but the band can play, and they sound good. Now onto the vocals and lyrics, the vocals on this album are quite nice. He can certainly sing, and keeps a tune pretty well. The vocals are a little high, but that is okay. You can still hear him, and make out every word he is saying. With the lyrics, the band goes for songs about being on your own. relationships, living, going through life with things changing and more. The band seems to like giving lyrics that are a little hard to get the meanings from, as they use unconventional way of saying things. These take a bit more of really listening to the lyrics to get what they mean, and have an experimental feel. We think it's nice to be different, but not to where no one gets you. This band sits right on the edge. Not bad all in all here. If you are looking for a single to this album, give the song "N.Y.E." your attention, as the band has chosen to promote this one the most, and it gives you an idea of the other three songs. Dinosaur Bones have made a debut album that really makes you  think and is different in the lyrical content of the standard way bands do things. We think the band has done a pretty good job on this album. Now all they need to do is get out a bit to bring their music to people. Listen to this album to decide for yourself what you think of it. They have since called it quits (R.I.P.)
