As Above, So Below have released their debut album titled "Kings Out Here." This album shows the band off in an alternative and progressive rock style. They have a sound that is around the same style that is pretty popular in Canada right now. The band has the same sort of sound to that of The Dear Hunter and Portugal. The Man, so if you like those bands, you could like this album. They have done a pretty good job on this album. When looking at the recording quality of this album, the album has been recorded to a fairly average quality. Now it is still very listenable, but you can hear the quality loss in the background with no vocals. The instrumentation is pretty good here, the band can play and they do give the guitar a bit of a workout. Now onto the vocals and lyrics, the vocals on this album are pretty solid really, there are spots here and there where the vocals loose a touch of the pitch, but otherwise, solid. He is very clear as well so you can hear the lyrics. This makes the music easier to appeal to a wider target market. With the lyrics, the band goes for messages about people being judgmental and out of touch, people thinking they are better, relationships in either form and just people not being the best they can to others. We feel that these are subjects that a lot of people can relate to, so this album could really hit a lot of people. If you are looking for a single to this album, there isn't one, so just pick a song and listen to it to get the full feel of the album. As Above, So Below have made a debut album that has the potential to see this band push things pretty far. We hope the band can push further and make an even better next album. We are excited to see the next offering. Hopefully the band can get out more and bring their music to more markets so they can grow as well. Solid overall. Listen to this album to decide for yourself what you think about it. They have since called it quits (R.I.P.)
