Sweet Thing have released their debut EP which is self titled. This album has a very indie feel to it that will fit right into any indie rock lovers collection. They have a similar sound to that of an Arkells or possibly a Hollerado, so if you are into those bands, you could really like this album. They have done a pretty good job on the album. When looking at the recording quality of this album, the album has been recorded to a pretty good level, it just feels like the album could have been made louder. The instrumentation on the album is done pretty well also, the band can certainly play and it's not just your regular average playing. There are also moments where they really showcase their guitar playing. Now onto the vocals and lyrics, the vocals on this album are pretty nice, they have a nice clear sound which makes the lyrics very easy to hear. He also seems to have a really good voice for the indie style the band is going for. Unfortunately they tried to have one song where the two singers were singing on top of each other, but it make the lyrics hard to understand. With the lyrics, the band goes for messages of relationships and the story of a girl. They also have songs about doing things with the wrong results, and the other songs were just too hard to get the meaning from. Not bad overall though. If you are looking for a single, give the song "Change Of Season" your attention as it is the best song on the album and gives you the best, clearest idea of their sound. Sweet Thing have made a debut album that has promise but also a few things here and there to fix. We do see the potential here and we can see them succeeding. Hope to see the band get out there more. Listen to this album to decide for yourself what you think of it. They have since called it quits (R.I.P.)
