Thought beneath Film have released their debut album titled "Detours." This album is quite the standard indie album that you would hear nowadays. At first listen, this doesn't really hit. The band has a similar sound to that of a Arkells or a The Most Serene Republic, so if you like those bands, you could really like this album. When looking at the recording quality of this album, the album has been recorded fairly well, especially for a debut album. The instrumentation on the album is nothing to blow you away, but it is solid and the band can certainly play. Now onto the vocals and lyrics, the vocals on this album are quite good. This singer can really sing and he sings in the perfect style that this type of band would. With the lyrics, they are pretty decent, but again they are pretty much the typical love and guy/girl relationship. Now they are done well but could use a different subject. If you are looking for a single to this album, there isn't one, so just pick a song and give it a listen to get the feel of the album. We suggest picking Sixty-Six. Thought Beneath Film have made a sort of welcome to album that shows you the direction this band wants their music to go. It is not a bad album at all, they have done some pretty good work here. Now all that is left is for the band to make the sound a little more their own and get out playing show. Listen to this album to decide for yourself what you think of it. They have since called it quits (R.I.P.)
