Static Prevails have released their debut album titled "Verax." This album is one that really rides the fence on being that melodic, rocky music and post-hardcore. These guys have done a great job at making this album hit the spot where everyone can get into it. These guys have a similar sound to that of a Dayshell or a Color Morale, so if you are into those bands, you could really like this album. They have done a not so bad job on this album. When  looking at the recording quality of this album, the album has been recorded fairly well. The instrumentation on this album is not too bad, they can play pretty well, nothing that will really blow your mind though. Now onto the vocals and the lyrics, the vocals on this album are quite easy to tell what the band is saying, and if you know local music, the vocals kind of sound like Illuminate The Sky here. Their vocalist and background vocals are really nice and can tell both can sing. Now with the lyrics, they have a pretty good grasp on things and have written songs that go with that teen/young adult life changes, hitting it on top pretty well. If you are looking for a single to this album, give the song "Weathered" as this is the best song on the album and really gives you a feel of the album. Static Prevails have made an album that really hits the doors open for this band and gives them a solid effort right out the gate. Hopefully they can keep this up and just go out playing shows. We like this album and can't wait for what is next. Listen to this album to decide for yourself what you think of it.
