Barlow has released his debut album which is self titled. This album shows barlow in that typical solo pop rock artist that plays with a band behind him and plays an acoustic guitar. This album has the same sort of feel as a Train or even any other pop rock artist. If you are into pop rock, you will like this album. He has done a very typical job on this album. When looking at the recording quality of this album, the album has not been recorded too badly. Barlow has a nice sound on this album and the instrumentation is something you can live with, he can play. Now onto the vocals and lyrics, the vocals are not bad, they have a nice clear sound and they have a sound that can appeal to anyone. With the lyrics, they need a bit of work, this album has more of that amateur feel to it and they lyrics don't really help it. A little work on more lyrics that can fit with him would do a bit better. If you are looking for a single, give the song "Perfect Wave" your attention as it is the best song on the album and it gives you the idea of what the album sounds like. Barlow has made a debut album here that doesn't really hit and it doesn't really miss, they kind of just are. Its an album, it exists, etc. Maybe with some progression and spreading out with the music and it can really make listeners cling to it. Listen to this album to decide for yourself what you think about it.
