Arms Of The Girl have released their debut album titled "Recipe For Living." This album is one that doesn't have  a lot to say about it. These guys and lady have made an album that just by the sound of it, has that weekly open mic night, weekly bar band type feel to it. This band has a feel to those 90's mom artists that were as described, popular to the older female population. This would be like Alanis Morsette or Holly McNarland. They have made and alright album. When looking at the recording quality of this album, the album has been recorded pretty well and you can tell that the band can play their instruments. However there is just one thing with the guitar that puts us off, we can't quite grasp it Now onto the vocals and lyrics, the vocals are done pretty well, the singer can sing and she has a nice clear voice, but again we just feel there is something that puts us off here. With the lyrics, they don't really resonate with anyone, and the use of "old fogies" in one of their songs is a bit funny, as the music they are making is pretty much for that crowd unfortunately. They just don't have substance people can get behind in these lyrics. If you are looking for a single to this album, there isn't one, so just pick a song and give it a listen to get the idea of the album. Arms  Of The Girl have made a decent album for the 90's, but unfortunately what they have done here doesn't really fit in with modern music. Hopefully with some progression here, they can get to that. If you like that small town bar band rock feel you could like this. Overall not a bad album but not one that catches us. Listen to this album to decide for yourself.
