Wasted Potential have released their debut album. This is just a demo album, but it does give you a first glimpse into what the band is doing and what they plan the band to be like. This is quite the punk album with a sound similar to Bad Religion and Pennywise. They have done a pretty good job for a demo. When looking at the recording quality of this album, the album has been recorded alright but could use some crisping up with clearer guitar, as well as making the songs longer so that it doesn't feel like you just turned the song on before its over, then it would be set. Now onto the vocals and the lyrics, the vocals could use some work, but this is real punk rock so that dirty not so clear vocal style is what works with this genre. The lyrics on the album could use a little more work to be more meaningful and what the punk kids want to hear about. If you are looking for a single for this album, there isn't one, so just pick any song and give it a listen to get the feel of the album. Wasted Potential have done a pretty good job on their demo, as there are some obvious things to fix up, the guitar work on the album is a decent highlight for the band. We hope as the band progresses that they keep the core of what they have here because its a good start and we are curious to see what else the band comes up with.
