The Midway State's debut album is one that is very piano driven with very soft sung lyrics to it. This album definitely has a very pop rock feel to it. These guys do have a sound here that could work, as this is the typical rock that gets played all over the radio. When you look at how the album was put together, it could use a tweak here or there on the recording but other then that its pretty good. With regards to the music, its average, nothing to blow you out of the water, but the range of the singers voice is quite good and so are the lyrics, good job here. If you are looking for a song to listen to on this album, give the song "Change For You" a listen, as this song is very piano driven with really good lyrics and beautiful male vocals on top of it. The Midway State have something here that could go far. If they can get both the pop and rock crowds into their music, it could be a huge benefit for them. Now if they just work on having every song sound like a hit, they could really make it with this, really good first effort, now just hopefully they keep what they have up. Listen to this album and make sure you follow this band.
