Ravenscode - Ravenscode

1. District Of Broken Hope
2. My Lies
3. Breaking Point

Ravenscode have released their debut album which has been self titled. This album seems to be more of an alternative rock feel to them. These guys have a similar sound to that of someone like a Creed or a Crossfade type of sound. If you like those bands, you could like this album. They have done a pretty good job here.

When looking at the recording quality of this album, the album has a pretty decent sound to it. We do feel that the vocals could have been turned up just a touch, but this is a very listenable album. This part of the album is pretty good. The instrumentation on the album isn't too bad. You can tell the band can play, and they do a good job of it. That being said, its nothing that's going to blow you away, just good solid playing.

Now onto the vocals and lyrics, the vocals on this album are actually really good. Their vocalist can certainly sing, and he has a sound that really fits with that alt rock/dad rock sound that many of the bands on the mid 2000's came up with. He is super clear and you can hear all of the lyrics, so you can get the meanings behind the songs. Now with the lyrics, the band goes for songs about struggles in everyday life and playing someone. These subjects are things that people can understand, albeit unfortunately. Struggles are something that everyone goes through, and for a lot of people, that can get behind these songs.  We think they can gain a fanbase with these songs and lyrics.

When looking for a single to this album, give the song "District Of Broken Hope" your attention, as this is the best song here, and shows off what the band is about the best.

Ravenscode have released three songs that really show off what the band is about, and give the listener an idea of what to expect from the band. This gives you a taste and helps decide if you want to see them live if they come around your town. We think the band has done a pretty good job here, and we can't wait to see what is next. Good job all in all. Listen to this band to decide for yourself what you think about it.
