Bordertown - New Car Smell

1. Black And Blue
2. A Fond Farewell
3. Sk8 Star
4. Over My Head

Bordertown have released their debut album titled "New Car Smell." This one shows off the band in that typical pop punk sound everyone knows. Their mix of pop and punk music is pretty similar to bands like Every Avenue, All Time Low or Sing It Loud, so if you like any of those bands, you could like this album. They have done an alright job here. When looking at the recording quality of this album, the album has been recorded quite well. With the instrumentation, the band can play, but this certainly isn't anything that is going to blow you away with their skill or anything. Now onto the vocals and lyrics, the vocals here are a little bit kid sounding, but he can sing, plus he's really nice and clear. We like his vocal style here and think it works perfectly with the type of music the band is making. With these lyrics, they seem to be very innocent, singing about wishing to be a star, girls, relationships, and being a teen. These are very typical things for younger bands to sing about. We think the lyrics work well with the target market and the genre they are doing. If you are looking for a single to this album, there isn't one, but we suggest you give Sk8 Star your attention as this is the song we like the best on this album. Bordertown have made a debut EP that shows off the style of music they are going for, while putting out a catch bunch of songs. With this we hope the band can get out and show this music to more people. Good luck here and we can't wait to see what comes next. Listen to this album to decide for yourself what you think of it. They have since called it quits (R.I.P.)
