Cain & Abel have released their second album titled "Up North." This album is a tribute to all of our native people and their culture through indie and folk music. They have a sound similar to Tokyo Police Club, so if you like that, this could be for you. Although the music continues on with the sound and style they did on their debut album, the lyrics and content are on a different subject here. When looking at the recording quality of this album, the album has been recorded fairly well, but it could use a little work as well with a bit more clarity overall to the album. The bands instrumentation on the album is a bit better than average as well. Now onto the vocals and lyrics, the vocals have been done here very well and they have a nice, clear sound to them so you can really get everything out of them. With the lyrics, they are a little bit out there as far as getting to full meaning of each song, but they are really solid lyrics with a message behind them. If you are looking for a single to this album, there isn't one, so just pick a song and give it a listen to get the feel of the album. Cain & Abel have written an album that is a little bit out there, but still has a pretty good sound to it. If they just get a more generic subject matter to sing about that everyone can understand, then it may go over a bit better. The album does sound good though and overall we like it. Listen to this album to decide for yourself what you think of it. They have since called it quits (R.I.P.)
