Being - Cathartic

1. Sinister
2. Cathartic
3. Infectious
4. Vermin

Being have released their second album titled "Cathartic." This album follows suit with the same style and sound the band created with their debut album. They have a really heavy sound and it's nice and brutal just like you want from a band like this. The band has a similar sound to that of super heavy bands like Whitechapel and then the hardcore of Expire, it's a pretty unique blend. They have done a pretty good job on the album. When looking at the recording quality of this album, the album has been recorded to an pretty good level, but it still has that raw and unpolished feel that we think it could use. The instrumentation on this album is nothing that will really blow you away, but the band can play. Now onto the vocals and lyrics, the vocalist is hard to understand and he has very distorted deep growls that he does. Now the background vocals and regular vocals are easier to understand here. Not bad overall, but could be a little better honestly. With the lyrics, the band has gone for giving you the most brutal, dark lyrics you can get, as to give you a very metal album. They seem to have a lot of the typical tricks deathcore bands use so not to have to make up as many lyrics, which is okay, but is over used here. We couldn't honestly tell you what the message in their songs are. If you are looking for a single to this album, there isn't one, so just listen to the whole album to get the idea of the band, it's only four songs. Being have made an album that is along the lines of what they and we personally like it the best out of the two. Now just get out and play more. Listen to this album to decide for yourself what you think of it.

Being - The Awakening

1. The Awakening
2. Planetary Devastation
3. The Omega

Being have released their debut album titled "The Awakening." This album is one that really down, heavy, grungy hardcore feel to it. They have sort of a similar sound to that of an Expire and a Suicide Silence if they mixed their sound together. If you are into that, you could like this album. These guys have done an alright job on the album. When looking at the recording quality of the album, the album has been recorded at an okay standard. It does give it that grungy sound though. The instrumentation is nothing to really make you listen, but they can play their instruments. Now onto the vocals and lyrics, the vocals have been done to an okay standard, they are a little hard to make out and the dual vocals on top of each other is a little annoying. Now with the lyrics, they could use a bit of work to be a little less harsh and brutal. The band went out and tried to make the most brutal lyrics instead of giving a story, which is what some metal fans like, but we would rather more meaning in them. If you are looking for a single to this album, there isn't one, so just pick a song and give it a listen to get the idea of this album. We suggest "The Omega" as it has the Continents singer also in it. Being have made a debut sort of welcome to album that certainly shows how the band wants to go with things and that they want to be a really heavy band. We are interested to see hwat this band comes out with next and if they can evolve and shape their sound. Listen to this a lbum to decide for yourself what you think of it.
