Attack In Black - Northern Towns

1. Northern Towns
2. Cut And Run
3. The Love Between You And I

Attack In Black have released their fourth album titled "Northern Towns." This one is a completely acoustic album and it shows off thew stripped down side of Attack In Black. These guys are an indie folk band so this album would be quite similar to that of a City and Colour or even a Passenger, so if you like those two, you could really like this album. When looking at the recording quality of this album, the album has been recorded a little raw but it adds to the style of the band. The instrumentation on this album is very stripped down but again they still play well. Now onto the vocals and the lyrics, the vocals here are not bad and again a little raw, but that is their style. He can certainly sing and is quite clear in the delivery. With the lyrics, they go back to other albums as they are previously released songs. they are about love and small towns, things that seem pretty Canadian. A decent job on the lyrics. If you are looking for a single to this album, there isn't one, so just pick a song and give it a listen to get the feel of the album. Attack In Black has done a pretty good job at stripping down a couple of their songs and playing them to the most basic. it is nice to hear songs this way sometimes and they have done it well. Listen to this album to decide for yourself what you think of their acoustics. They have since called it quits (R.I.P.)

3. Hunger Of Young
4. Inches And Age
5. Marriage
6. If All I Thought Were True
7. Broken Things
8. Footprints
9. The Love Between You And I
10. Northern Towns
11. Husbands
12. Chimes And Church Bells

Attack In Black have released their third album titled "Marriage." This album ramps up what the band is trying to do with their style and sound. It has a really, rocking indie sound that catches your attention. These guys have really done a solid job on this album. When looking at the recording quality of this album, the album been recorded fairly decently, it has an edge with but being perfect, but not being too rough. The bands instrumentation is pretty good on here as well. Now onto the vocals and lyrics, the vocals have the right amount of rasp and are clear to hear the lyrics. They have done a nice job on the vocals, while the lyrics seem to have a nice way of getting into harder topics that you don't hear too much on. If you are looking for a single to this album, give the song "Young Leaves" your attention, as it is the best song on the album and it really gives you an idea of what the feel of the album is like. Attack In Black have done a very good job on this album and we are quite excited to listen to it, it is one you can listen to over and over, so get on it. Listen to this album to decide for yourself what you think about it. They have since called it quits (R.I.P.)

Attack In Black - Widows EP

1. Broken Things
2. The Love Between You And I
3. Cut And Run
4. 1950

Attack In Black have released their second album "Widows EP." This album is full of that hard, heavy raw rock and roll that seems to be filling the airwaves, and at a time where no one was doing it. You have to give these guys credit, as they really found a sound and style that struck a chord on this album. Listening to this album, the quality is pretty solid and these guys can play. Only thing to think about that could be bad on this album is that the folky punk song 1950 may not be everyone cup of tea, so they'll stick to the other three tracks. The best song on this album would be "Broken Things" as it shows off perfectly what the other three songs sound like and gives you a story about not being like everyone else and living with it. This band is one you really have to listen to, so if you have yet to, get on it now. They have since called it quits (R.I.P.)

Attack In Black - Attack In Black

1. Take Back Compassion
2. Halogen Ambush
3. Born Again
4. Resist And Desire
5. Doctor Doctor

Attack In Black have released their debut self titled album. This album is definitely raw, but it gives the band a starting ground and they have decided to go the punk route here. Now the first thing you notice is that this is a punk album, and if you have heard their other work, seems a bit strange. That is okay, as it is a start for the band, and every band needs a beginning point. Every single bit of this album is awful, not en going to sugarcoat it here, the album needs a whole lot better recording quality and is almost unlistenable due to that. If you look past that part, you can see a band that is capable of playing, its not great but not horrible. There is not one song you should listen to over the others as it is all equally bad, but do listen to this album as something to say, hey I heard it and wow they changed and got better. This album is one of those "Yes I've actually heard it" kinda albums, so listen for what it is and not what its not. Overall, glad they changed styles and got way better recordings. They have since called it quits (R.I.P.)
