The Lines Between have released their debut album, which they have decided to self title. This album shows the band in a very alternative bar band style on first impression. They have a very generic sound here. The album seems to have a similar sound to that of a Goo Goo Dolls, Matchbox 20, or a Train, so if you are into those artists, you may like these guys. They have done an okay job.

When looking at the recording quality of this album, the album has been recorded to a not to bad quality. Although the vocals sound a little quiet, and the production is quite the highest, it's a very listenable album. The instrumentation here is nothing thats going to turn your head whatsoever but the band knows how to play.

Now onto the vocals and lyrics, the vocals on this album have an older, bon jovi style to them. One thing you will notice is that the singer seems to over hold his words at the end of every sentence he sings. This is unnecessary and dates the music a bit. Now he can sing, and you can hear him pretty clearly, so it isn't all bad. With the lyrics, the band goes for songs about girls, relationships, and very typical rock song themes. "I was this way then, now I'm older", and more girls. We are not fond of these lyrics.

If you are looking for a single to this album, give the song "Eighteen" your attention, as this was the song the band decided to use as a single and send off to radio stations. This shows the band off the best and gives you an idea of what they are like.

The Lines Between have made an album that shows what the band is about, and what they are going for. With so many bands out there, we would like to see them change it up a bit, try something a little newer, and give a bit more life into the music. This isn't bad, but it also doesn't really feel like a band that can get outside of the, playing the local bar every week to the same people type of thing. Listen to this album to decide for yourself what you think of it. They have since called it quits (R.I.P.)
