Awake At 4am - Cosmic EP

1. Turbulence
2. Cosmic
3. Two Months
4. Opposite
5. Clocks
6. Making Tracks

Awake At 4am have released their second album titled "Cosmic EP." This album is one that really shows off that indie funk feel the band has been going for since their last album. This one is a continuation and expands their sound. They have a similar sound to band that play in the older clubs and less mainstream places. They have done alight here. The instrumentation on this album is really quite standard. The band can play, but there isn't anything thats going to really catch you or make you turn your head, just solid playing. Not onto the vocals and lyrics, the vocals on this album are really nice and clear. You can hear just exactly what the singer is saying, albeit, there isn't really one thing we can say is different or haven't heard before. This seems to be lacking that it factor that automatically says it's "this" band. With the lyrics, the band seems to go for songs about love, relationships and interactions with two people. This seems to be what a lot of artists go toward when writing songs. All in all, this is pretty standard. If you are looking for a single to this album, there isn't one, so just pick a song besides Turbulence, as that is an intro song, and you will get the feel of the album. Awake At 4am have released an album that expands on their sound and gives them more to pull from in a live setting. We feel that this is alright and looking to see whats next. Listen to this album to decide for yourself what you think of it. They have since called it quits (R.I.P.)
