Amberwood - Now & Then

1. Coming Home
2. Back To Back
3. Out Of This Place
4. Confessions
5. Now & Then

Amberwood have released their second album titled "Now & Then." This album follows along the same lines and style as their debut album, so you will know what to expect if you heard their debut. These guys really do have that straight forward rock sound, which we think sounds like a Theory Of A Deadman or a 3 Doors Down. If you like those artists or 90's rock, you could really like this album. The guys have done a good job on this album. When looking at the recording quality of this album, the album has been recorded to a pretty solid standard. This album has a nice sound and professional. The instrumentation on the album is nothing to blow you away, but they can play and they play nice straight forward rock. Now onto the vocals and lyrics, the vocalist has a nice, strong voice. He has a bit of a raspy voice which can work in rock. He is very clear though, so you can tell just what he is saying. Not a bad singer overall. With the lyrics, the band goes for the message of getting out of a place you don't want to be in, what it's like to come home after being away for awhile, and confessing your secrets. They also look at the past and future of your life. These are a lot of things people deal with at some point in their life, and it connects with the fan. We like the messages in the songs and it goes with the music. If you are looking for a single to this album, give the song "Coming Home" your attention as it is the best song on the album and it really starts off the album well. This also gives you the idea of the rest of the album. Amberwood have yet again made a decent album that is very listenable for a huge variety of people. They have nice vocals, decent lyrics and with a little more of a modern feel, they could probably make a go of it. Overall we like it. Listen to this album to decide for yourself what you think of it.
