Small Talk have released their debut album titled "What's Left." This album shows a band that is just in the beginning stage of figuring out what they want to be. These guys have the style and sound like a The Story So Far or Real Friends, so if you like those bands, you could like these guys. They have done an alright job on this album. When looking at the recording quality of this album, the album has been recorded fairly well and the instrumentation isn't bad either here. Now onto the vocals and lyrics, the vocals sound a little too forced to be raspy and Real Friends like, while the background vocals seem a little less stylized. With the lyrics, they are pretty good, but they could use a little tweaking to get more of a meaningful story out of them. If you are looking for a single for this album, there isn't one, so just pick a song and give it a listen to get the feel of the album. Small Talk have given us a taste of what they are looking to do in their debut, welcome to album. It isn't a bad album but we do hope that there is more and they progress into something a little more their own. This effort is a pretty good job none the less. Listen to this album to decide for yourself what you think of it. They have since called it quits (R.I.P.)
