The Russian Futurists have released their debut album titled "Ecole De Neige". This album shows the band as an electronic rock based group.  They have a very different feel, that has caught on in the recent past and it's nice to see it from so long ago. They have a similar sound to that of MGMT, and a bit of Foster The People, so if you like those bands, you could like this album. They have done an okay job here. When looking at the recording quality of this album, the album has been recorded to a below average sound. The vocals are hard to hear, and the music seems to almost drown them out. While instrumentation seems very drum machine driven, it does work, but how much it's going to wow you, is another story.

Now onto the vocals and lyrics, when looking at the vocals, the singer can sing, even though it's harder to hear. Maybe with a bit better of a recording, you could tell just how good of a singer the vocalist is, but for now we say average. With the lyrics, the band goes for songs about the cold and winter, living isolated, being in a cabin and just kind of living life on the downlow and with less. They also have the typical song about having a relationship go south. These seem a little bit more on the canadian side with these lyrics, but feel people can still latch onto them.

The Russian Futurists have made an album that feels very single canadian artists to it. This album shows you the sound and style he is going for and previews it. We can't wait to see what else is here with this band, and what else they can come up with. Not bad. Listen to this album to decide for yourself what you think about it.
