King Pin have released their debut album titled "Damaged Goods." This album is one that really shows the band in that new style of pop punk that has an emotional side to it. They have a sing talk style to their music which we have seen a few bands make it on that kind of music. They have a similar sound to that of Being As An Ocean, Say Anything and Trophy Eyes with a more punk feel to them, so if you are into either of those bands, you could like King Pin. They have done a not so bad job here. When looking at the recording quality of this album, the album has been recorded to a pretty decent standard while still be a bit raw. The instrumentation is not going to wow you, but the band can play and carry themselves. All in all, on the average side. Now onto the vocals and lyrics, with the vocals, the singer can sing pretty well, and he is also quite clear, despite his screaming vocal style. He does the talk sing style well also. Not bad for a rougher edge new pop punk project. With the lyrics, the band goes for messages about depression, regret, being down, wishing for a day to never end and more. These are very personal and emotionally driven lyrics. We feel that people can feel for the vocalist and maybe see themselves in these lyrics as well. Hopefully they show that the listener isn't the only one having these problems. If you are looking for a single to this album, there isn't one, so just pick a song and give it a listen to get the feel of the album. King Pin have made a debut sort of welcome to album that hides nothing. They let you know the feelings and thoughts of the band right from the get go. We like this honest style they have chosen to go with. Hopefully we can see more and watch the band spread out their music to more towns. Not a bad album. Listen to this album to decide for yourself what you think of it. They have since called it quits (R.I.P.)
