Housing - Empathy

Housing have released their debut album titled "Empathy." This album is a very indie release that seems to fit into that indie pop punk scene although not being pop punk at all. These guys have a sound that is working right now in the non major label music scene. They have a similar sound to that of Pine or even somewhat of Movements, so if you like those artists, you could like this album. They have done a really good job on this album. When looking at the recording quality of this album, the album has been recorded to a pretty decent standard without completely taking away the raw indie feel they like. The instrumentation on the album could be a bit better, but the band can play and they do a great job. Their ability and playing is just right for the style and sound they are going for, but everyone plays like this. Now onto the vocals and lyrics, the vocals o n the album are quite good, they have a really nice, clear sound that you can hear every word the vocalist is saying. There are hints of duel vocals between their female member and the singer, it would of been nice to hear more of those. Overall he can sing and we like his sound. With the lyrics, the band goes for more of a sad record with songs about being alone, being numb and relationships. This is more of a getting over someone record and we can all feel that. We have had that situation happen at some point so we can get it. If you are looking for a single to this album, there isn't one, so just pick a song and give it a listen to get the feel of the album. Housing have made a debut album that just feels dark and down. We get what the band is going for and they have done a good job on it. We hope to see this band out more and can't wait to see what comes next with this band. Listen to this album to decide for yourself what you think of it.
