Crimson Shadows have released their second album titled "Glory On The Battlefield." This album is one that really brings the metal. They have that very hard, fast power driven feel to them and screechy vocals to them. They have a similar sound to that of a Bolt Thrower or a Blind Guardian, so if you like those bands, you could really like this album. They have done a fairly good job on this one. When looking at the recording quality of this album, the album recording has been done really well here. The bands instrumentation is something to take notice of, but of course in this style of metal, you need to be good at playing. Now onto the vocals and lyrics, the vocals are quite decent as the singer can do both the growled and screeching vocals, he has a powerful yet brutal voice and it fits well with this band. With the lyrics, the band have gone that viking metal route with songs about battles, swords, knights and kings. They have old medieval times stories that go quite well with metal and they and great songs. If you are looking for a single to this album, give the song "Lost In A Dark Forest" your attention as it is the best song on the album and one that really shows off the album well. Crimson Shadows have written a record that follows up their demo quite well. They really have gone and done something most Ontario bands are not and it works. Hopefully they can make this big, as there is a market for it. Listen to this album to decide for yourself what you think of it.
