Machete Avenue have released their debut album titled "The First Cuts." This album is a very stripped down simple album with just acoustic guitar and piano. These guys are very much like a John Mayer or a early City and Colour, so if you are into that, this could be something for you. They have done a pretty decent job on this album though. When looking at the recording quality of this album, the album has been recorded really well and has that raw acoustic feel to it. The bands instrumentation isn't anything that is going to blow you away, but for what it is, they do a decent job. Now onto the vocals and lyrics, the vocals on this album are quite good. He has a really manly, raspy voice that is also quite calming in a way while being very clear. With the lyrics, they have done a really good job on those too, they have very detailed stories to them that really give you a vision of what they are singing about, well done. If you are looking for a single to this album, give the song "Cut To Pieces" your attention as it is the best song on the album and really gives you an idea of how the album sounds. Machete Avenue have made an album that is able to be enjoyed by both the people in the scene and the standard radio lovers which is the perfect way to hit the masses. We really like this album and we can't wait to see what they come up with next. Listen to this album to decide  for yourself what you think of it. They have since called it quits (R.I.P.)
