The Matadors have released their debut full length album titled "Hellblazin'." This album is the first one to feature the main lineup of the band, and the female member is gone. This is the true lineup here for the first time. The band has a style of someone like The Horrorpops or Tiger Army, so if you like them, you could like this. If you compare this album to the last one, this is more complete and has more of a real band feel to it, plus this one is a full length. When looking at the recording quality of this album, the album has been recorded fairly decently and their sound is quite good for a newer style of 50's California rock. The instrumentation is pretty good for this style of music as well. Now onto the lyrics and vocals, the lyrics are not so meaningful, but they give you the sort of scary feature the band is trying to go for, while the vocals work quite well here, especially for that 50's sound. if you are looking for a single to this album, there isn't one, so just pick a song and give it a listen to get the feel of the album. The Matadors have really stepped it up from their previous EP. This album really shows what the band wants and gives them their own style in the rockabilly genre. We can't wait to see what the band comes up with next. Listen to this album to decide for yourself what you think of it.
