Splitfist is a band that have decided to put more of a raspy punk vibe to their pop punk, which isn't necessarily the style thats in right now, but thats okay because it gives them a more authentic punk feel. Think of a band like Misser or Make Do And Mend, if your into them, you'll like this. When looking at the recording quality of this album, the album has been recorded pretty well, but the instrumentation is pretty average which seems to be more the way of the genre and not the band it self. Now with the lyrics and the vocals, the lyrics are alright, they seem to have some good meaning but with the vocals, we personally feel that the raspy punk vocals could go for a little more cleaner vocals. Some people really seem to like this type of vocals though, so it's not bad. If you are looking for a single for this album, listen to the song "21 & Running" as this song is the one that best shows the overall feel of the album the best and really grabs you into the album. Hopefully Splitfist just continue on with what they are doing and play more shows everywhere and people will get to know them and the fan base will grow. Listen to this album to decide what you think of it for yourself.
