Gym Class Joke have released their debut album titled "Corporate Punk$." This album is quite the punk album and really sticks with that sort of skate punk and street vibe here. They have done the typical punk rock you would expect from bands in the 90's so it goes well with the time. They have a similar sound to artists like Belvedere or even Rancid, so if you like that style of punk, you could really like this album. They have done an alright job here. When looking at the recording quality of this album, the album has been recorded to just an okay standard. Now we aren't sure if the recording just hasn't stood up well or was recorded like that, but either way it needs work for sure. The instrumentation on the album could use some work as well, but with the style of punk they are playing, it is suppose to be sloppy and messy. Now onto the vocals and lyrics, the vocals on this album have been done pretty fast and have a very raw feel to them. This is something people who are into this genre like, so it isn't all that bad, just not our thing. Their vocalist can sing alright so hey. With the lyrics, the band tends to go for subjects of feeling alone, being by yourself and just that whole loneliness feeling you can get trapped into. This is something we can all relate to as some point or another, hopefully this help either them or a listener. If you are looking for a single to this album, there isn't one, so just pick a song and give it a listen to get the idea of the album. Gym Class Joke have made a debut album that really shows the style they are going for and gives a raw punk feel. We enjoyed it for what it is and they have potential for sure. Listen to this album to decide for yourself what you think of it. They have since called it quits (R.I.P.)
