Ruin have released their debut album entitled "Catharsis." This album has a feel like a really fast hardcore band. They have fast and heavy hitting guitars and they seem to feel like a Stray From the Path, Comeback Kid, or Stick To Your Guns. If you like those bands, check out this one because they are pretty good. When looking at the recording quality of this album, the album has an alright sound to it, but the recording could of used just a bit more work to get it louder and clearer and the instrumentation seems to be quite what you expect with hardcore bands. Now onto the vocals and lyrics, the vocals are done pretty good and the lyrics seem to bring out and put the album up a step, so good job. If you are looking for a single for this album, there isn't one, so just pick a song and give it a listen to get the feel of the album. Ruins debut album is pretty good for a debut here, now just hopefully the band will continue to progress, play more shows and just keep doing what they love. If they achieve that, they should be able to take this somewhere and get that person to find them. Listen to this album to decide for yourself what you think of it.
