My Son The Hurricane - You Can't Do This

1. Doombringer
2. Pushin' Up Daisies
3. Honour Among Thieves
4. Cookie Monster
5. Barrachone
6. Longhair's Lament
7. Sullivan

My Son The Hurricane have released their second album titled "You Can't Do This." This album is one that follows along and builds up the same sound and style as their previous release. This band is certainly something unique that no one else is doing, having a brass band behind a guy singing hip hop. There isn't really another band that can really compare to these guys, but we think that the closest would be a mix of Too Many Zooz and Down With Webster, so if you like those artists, you could like this album. They have done a solid job here.  When looking at the recording quality of this album, the album has been recorded to a pretty decent level here. The music is pretty crisp and clear, although we wish the lyrics were louder. We just feel the sound could of been bigger with all that brass, but then it would over power the vocals. Nice recording though. The instrumentation is quite good as well. This have a bunch of instruments all over this recording, and each one seems to have a specific part in the song, so it melds together nicely. These guys can certainly play. Now onto the vocals and lyrics, the vocals on this album are rapped, but you can hear them nice and clearly. Sometimes he raps a little fast, so you have to pay a bit more attention. His voice doesn't quite have a musical tone to it, but thats what kind of helps in giving them a bit of an outcast feel. With the lyrics, the band goes for realistic songs about growing up and having to face the things that go with it. They also have that just feel good rocking out song about just vibing with the music.  So between the daily life lyrics and the fun, this band has hit it on both sides for their music. All in all, they have done a very good job here. If you are looking for a single to this album, give "Pushin' Up Daisies" your attention, as this is the best song on this album and probably their best song to date, so this would give you the best idea into their sound as a whole. My Son The Hurricane have made an album that expands their setlist and gives them more songs to play, while really showing their grown up way of looking at things. We feel that with the uniqueness of this band and the sensible lyrics, that this is a band you could at least give a listen to. Listen to this album to decide for yourself what you think about it, we like it.

The Superlative - Numero Deux

1. Forget To Remember
2. Life Is Good
3. Fallout
4. Keep It Here
5. JAMaca
6. Glory
7. Dad Rock
8. HomeWrecker

The Superlative have released their second album titled "Numero Deux." This album follows along the sames lines as their debut album but more edgy. These guys wanted to turn up the volume on this one. We think this album has a similar sound to that of Lit or a Not By Choice, so if you like those artists, you could really like this album. They have done a good job on this album. When looking at the recording quality of this album, the album has been recorded to a pretty good standard. We would of just raised the vocals up a bit. The instrumentation here is nothing to crazy, just a solid playing regular band. However there are touches of promise. Now onto the vocals and lyrics, the vocals on this album are done very nicely. Their singer can sing and he has a nice clear voice that will appeal to a wide range of people so thats perfect. We think he gives the album the perfect vocal sound. With the lyrics, the band goes for songs about relationships, having people get what they deserve in the end, having a good life, being more open minded and more. We feel that there are people out there that could relate to these lyrics and get into them. Not bad overall. If you are looking for a single to this album, give the song "Keep It Here" your attention as it is the best song on the album and gives you the best representation of the album as a whole. The Superlative have made their second album Go along just as well as their debut. They now have more songs to choose from when playing live to fill a setlist better and give people a better taste of the band. We think these guys have little bit of a detour in song style on some songs that we hope doesn't detract fans. All in all the band has done a pretty good job on this album. Hope to see whats next. Listen to this album to decide for yourself what you think of it.

The Superlative - Chester

1. Inner Muse
2. Anthem Of A Degenerate
3. Dancing In My Mind
4. Hot Summer Dub
5. Dark Days (Don't Look So Pretty)
6. The Beast Within

http://www.mediafire.com/?yqn8m5ujyh8b7gy

The Superlative have released their debut album titled "Chester." Now we do not know who Chester is, but what we do know is that his album is a mix match of all his favourite styles of music, from rock to funk and reggae. This album has a similar sound to another band named Xprime if you know them, if not, then check them out too. these guys have done a pretty good job on the album. When looking at the recording quality of this album, the album has been recorded pretty well. The band can play pretty well also, so that is good. Now onto the vocals and lyrics, the vocals here have a nice light funky style to them and it sounds pretty nice. They for the most part are nice and clear. With the lyrics, they are your very typical first album, young band lyrics that don't really have that substance to the meaning of them. They do however have nice fun carefree lyrics that you don't really have to think about, which is good. If you are looking for a single to this album there isn't one, so just pick a song and give it a listen to get the feel of this album. The Superlative have done a pretty good job on their debut, welcome to album here. It has a very staggered sound, which hopefully the band will progress, and fine tune their sound so as to have a more unified sound to their album. Now all that is left to do is get out and play. Listen to this album to decide for yourself what you think of it.

Afternoons In Stereo - Retrospective

1. Galaxina
2. Party at Dick & Mimi's
3. Dawn In Manihi
4. Shadows
5. How Does it Feel?
6. El Puma
7. Kalakuta Republik
8. Metrosexual
9. Soul Sugar
10. Return Of The Puma
11. Tinto Brass
12. Asteroid Field Guide
13. Dusk In Andalusia
14. The Art Of Dolby

Afternoons In Stereo has released his fifth album titled "Retrospective." This album is quite an odd one for the time period as it feels like a funky, 70's disco, movie theme song. This is really not something that goes with this time period but it is interesting to say the least to listen to. He has done a good job on this album though. When looking at the quality of the recording, the album has been done pretty well. There isn't really and instrumentation as this album was all computer made. Now as this is a sort of electronic offering, it has no lyrics to it either and singing is non-existent as well, but the sounds of the album do bring you back to the 70's. If you are looking for a single to this album, give the song "Galaxina" your attention as this is the one he has pcked to be the single and it gives you an idea of the feel of the album. Afternoons In Stereo have made an album that we don't really know what to say here, but for a 70's style electro offering, it seems to be pretty good here, the songs sound like they could be in a dirty harry movie when he is chasing the bad guy. Listen to this album to decide for yourself what you think of it.

My Son The Hurricane - Check The Barometer

1. Ain't My Style
2. Glass Joe
3. Back Pocket
4. Big Red

http://www.mediafire.com/?d1g1oahd081lmoh

My Son The Hurricane have released their debut album titled "Check The Barometer." My Son is a band that has a singer that does hip hop with an 11 piece brass band backing him. This is certainly a different and unique combination for a band or group to go through, but on their debut, it seems to work. These guys have done an alright job on this album. When looking at the recording quality of this album, the album has been recorded fairly well and the instrumentation, along with the different elements really takes you back on first listen. Now onto the vocals and lyrics, the lyrics along with the vocalist could use some work, more so the vocalist on this actual singing, his rapping is petty good. If you are looking for a single for this album, check out the song "Ain't My Style" as this is the best song on the album and it shows off the feel of the album the best. My Son the Hurricane have done a pretty good job here and they really do have have the potential to make something great here. The one problem is to try and get that many people's schedules together to play and record very much, so touring is somewhat hard. Maybe a scaled down band would help them out, but it is a lot of stuff hitting you. Good job. Listen to this album to decide for yourself what you think of it.

Get down with your funky self on Theatre Crisp's debut album "Modern Daze." Theatre Crip's debut album gives you a funky hip hop sound that you can dance to the groove of the music. There are not a lot of bands doing this sort of style so we don't even know who to compare this to. When looking at the recording quality of this album, the quality is pretty good here actually and the instrumentation isn't all that bad either, so it's a nice touch to see. Now onto the lyrics and the vocals, the lyrics tell an awesome story and they are sung very heartfelt while the vocals are pretty decent and the rapping on the album is pretty solid as well. If you are looking for a single for this album, there isn't one, so just pick a song and give give it a listen to get the sound, as well as the feel of the album. Theatre Crisp has done something fresh and new here, we aren't quite sure if this will be big or not, but we liked this album so we will just hope the band keeps it up and get out there as much as they can. Listen to this album to decide for yourself what you think of it.

Two Crown King - Is A Demo.

1. Holy Cola
2. A One Man Mess
3. Monster
4. No Sleep

http://www.mediafire.com/?oua9v9r71pc9b9i

Two Crown King's demo shows a band that is quite unique for the scene that they fit in. This album has a hip hop feel but is also on the rock side, which makes it a different feel. The only band we can sort of compare this band to is a Down With Webster type, but its only sort of like that bands older stuff. When looking at the recording quality of the demo, it has been recorded pretty well for a demo, and the band can also play that funky rock vibe here. Now looking at the lyrics and vocals, the lyrics have been done very well, they have a really good story and are meaningful, while the vocals of all the members is quite good as well. If you are looking for a single for this album, there isn't one, so just pick a song and give it a listen to get the feel of the album. Two Crown King have done a really good job on this album and we hope to hear more from them soon, you really need to hear this band. Hopefully they just keep the shows going and the music flowing. Listen to this album to decide for yourself what you think of it. They have since called it quits (R.I.P.)
