Wind Cries Mary - Wind Cries Mary

1. Lead Me Astray
2. Conceiving A Kingdom
3. Splitting Skin
4. Monotony

Wind Cries Mary have released their third album, which happens to be self-titled. This album seems to bring the heat, compared to their previous efforts. We are certainly happy to hear the evolution of this band. They have a similar sound to that of an Upon A Burning Body or a Fit For An Autopsy, so if you are into either of those bands, you could really like this album. They have done a solid job here. When looking at the recording quality of this album, this album certainly seems to have the best recording of any of the bands albums for sure. You can hear everything pretty clearly, and it's a nice recording. The instrumentation on the album is better than you would expect from a fairly unknown band. These guys can certainly play, and play well, we give solid props to the band for that. Now onto the vocals and lyrics, with the vocals the scream can certainly scream. He has a scream that you can still basically understand everything he says, which helps out quite a lot. We feel the screams have progressed over the 3 albums and this is the best it's been so far. With the lyrics, the band goes for songs about being broken from someone you've given chances to, having life hold you down and get to you, being attracted to something you know is toxic for you, and getting back up from everything. We feel that these are things that people can relate to, and especially the people who listen to this band. The fans will connect with these songs for sure. We like them and think they have done a solid job. If you are looking for a single to this album, there isn't one, so we suggest "Splitting Skin" as the song to listen to because we feel it hits the hardest. All in all Wind Cries Mary have made an album that gives them more repertoire to play live and gives you a heavier, fuller sound to rock to. With these four songs, we can't wait to see what this leads to, and hear a full account of the band in it's current state. Solid album. Listen to this album to decide for yourself what you think about it.

Wind Cries Mary - Infinity

http://www.twitter.com/WindCriesMaryON

1. Paimon
2. Power Trip
3. Syrian Standoff
4. The Great Depression

Wind Cries Marry have released their second album titled "Infinity." This album follows or sort of piggy backs their debut album in the fact that they have the same style and sound. This band has a pretty standard metalcore sound to their band, so it is easy to get into. They have a similar sound to Upon A Burning Body and August Burns Red, so if you like those bands, you could like this album. They have done a pretty good job on this album. When looking at the recording quality of the album, they have recorded it to an average level. The instrumentation here isn't all that bad, the band can play and it's pretty decent. They have a nice sound and give you some nice breakdowns to get into. Now onto the vocals and lyrics, the vocals on this album are not bad. Their singer can certainly scream, and he gives you those growly, deep, bear sounding vocals. You can also tell what they are saying still, which is a big positive here. With the lyrics, the band has decided to go for songs about treating each other differently, depression and wanting to end it, doing thing to get attention, and death. We feel that people have thought about all of these subjects at one point, but if we can overcome then, then we can be stronger. If you are looking for a single to this album, there isn't one, so just pick a song or listen to the whole thing because it's only four songs, then you will know what the band and album is about. Wind Cries Mary have made an album that is dark and very metal. We think this is what they were going for here. You can tell the band has a bit of talent when listening to this album and we hope they can get better and push it further. Not a bad job, bit still a bit to go. Listen to this album to decide for yourself what you think of it.

Wind Cries Mary have released their debut album titled "Ouija." This album is a very hardcore album here, with a little feel of nu metal in one of the songs. The album, which is a sort of welcome to, kind of makes us feel like a suicide silence and Emmure while being still regular hardcore. The band has done an okay job on this album. When looking at the recording quality of the album, it sounds alright but you can tell there is some work to be done here and the overall quality just seems to be  missing something. Now onto the vocals and the lyrics, the vocals could use some work in the screams, but the backing vocals need a some work for sure. Now with the lyrics, they just seem to be lacking the substance and real meaning behind them, but thats okay for a debut first attempt album. if you are looking for a single for this album, there isn't one, so just pick a song and give it a listen to get the feel of the album. Wind Cries Mary have tried pretty had here and it does have some good  sounds to it, but as the band progresses, we hope to see more of their own sound come out, while the vocals in the background get stronger. Hopefully we will see them play more shows and get their name out more. We are looking forward to see what the band comes out with next. Listen to this album to decide for yourself what you think of it.
