Navy have released their second album titled "Still Can't Stop the Sadness." This album is a continuation of the sound and style the band developed on the previous album. These guys really seem to like that indie emo sound which was pretty new when this stuff was done, but it still has a bit of an odd sound to this music. They have done an alright job on it though. When looking at the recording quality of this album, the quality is pretty good but the instrumentation is quite average here. Now onto the vocals and lyrics, the vocals seem to be quite weird, with the screeching a times vocals and the out of place screamed vocals, it is just a little messy. The lyrics on this album could use a little work as well to be more meaningful and less abstract. Navy have done an alright job here on their second album, but the experimentation seems to be just a little too much, however we do give them props for trying. Navy have a few things they could tweak, so we are just not able to get into this, we do hope you give it a listen to decide for yourself what you think of it. They have since called it quits (R.I.P.)

Navy - Can You Deal With My Peel?

http://www.myspace.com/navytheband

1. The Parts Of Me
2. Jam Sandwich
3. Tina
4. Can You Deal With My Peel?

A band that features members from Boys Night Out, Straight Reads The Line and Northern Souls, Navy already have the pressure to succeed. On their debut album "Can You Deal With My Peal?" the band have gone a totally different direction then that of which you'd expect these former heavy band members to do. This album has a very indie or alternative rock feel to it. Sadly this album doesn't really have that oomph to give a chance to stay level with that pressure. While listen to this album you can tell that it is lacking in the production area and needs a better recording done with it which does hurt the album. These three guys can play, its more of a simple stripped down playing style but it does work. Now there is  not really one song that stands out over the rest, but listen to the title track. It really has that super indie sound that is big right now and shows off the rest of the album. In the end, this album needs some work, but hopefully they can progress and tweak their sound to make this effort really hot it hard. give this album a listen still, it is something you need to hear. They have since called it quits (R.I.P.)
