Hostage Life have released their second album titled "Walking Papers." This album follows the same sound and style as the previous album. The band really goes for punk that has controversial and political topics laced within their music. These guys have a similar sound to that of an Against Me! or an Anti-Flag, so if you are into either of those bands, you could really like this album. They have done a really good job on this album. When looking at the recording quality of this album, the album has been recorded to a cleaner but still sloppy feel to it. The band wants to have that sloppy, we don't care, punk feel to their album, while still sounding good. We think they have achieved that on this album. The instrumentation does have a few flashes of solid guitar playing here, but all in all, there isn't really anything you haven't heard before. This band can play well and that is all that really matters. Now onto the vocals and lyrics, the vocals on the album have been done in a raspy kind of dirty punk style. You can still hear the vocals well, and everything he is saying so that is great. This style works well with the type of music the band wants to create, and he can for sure sing. With the lyrics, the band goes for their political  take on society and how countries are being run, while also just looking at the state of the average person. Hostage Life has some songs that do make you think and thats all a band can hope to do with their lyrics, is to give you a side of a topic and you listen. If you are looking for a single to this album, give the song "This Song Was Written By A Committee" your attention as it is the best song on the album and gives you a good look into the topics the band is singing about. Hostage Life have made a pretty solid second album here. We like how they are not afraid to speak out, and that some of the songs are really worth listening to. We do hope the band can get out a little more and bring their music to more people, but they are doing a good job so far. All in all, we like this album. Listen to this album to decide for yourself what you think of it. They have since called it quits (R.I.P.)

4. Nickel Sneakers
5. Ceci N'est Pas Une Chanson
6. Robot-A-Go-Go

Hostage Life have released their debut album titled "Sing For The Enemy." This album is one that really shows off the band and their very punk style. This is a band that is pretty similar to an Anti-Flag or a Against Me!, so if you like those bands, you could like Hostage Life. They have done a pretty good job on this album. When looking at the recording quality of this album, the album has been recorded alright. The bands instrumentation here is also decent, but nothing that will really blow you away. Now onto the vocals and lyrics, the vocals are alright. They are in a pretty  punk style and they get the desired feel from them. With the lyrics, they are quite political in nature and really attack everything that the establishment stands for, while being just what real punk kids want to hear in their content. If you are looking for a single to this album, there isn't one, so just pick any song and give it a listen to get the feel of the album. Hostage Life have made an album that really speaks out in the punk way, which is something not a lot of bands are doing. They have a decent style and they know how to play. We can not wait to see what this band comes up with next, and we hope they delve into some more bigger political topics. Listen to this album to decide for yourself what you think of it. They have since called it quits (R.I.P.)
