Bronx Cheerleader have released their debut album titled "Tough Guy Cliches." This album has a very slow, almost acoustic, lighter psychedelic rock feel to it that really reminds us of that early 60's music. They have a similar sound obviously to any of those lighter 60's rock artists, so if you are into that, you could really like this album. They have done a pretty good job. When looking at the recording quality of this album, the album has been recorded to a pretty decent level. It has that old rock feel and is still updated enough to not have that old recording sound. The instrumentation on this album is pretty straight forward as most 60's lighter rock bands were, but they can still play. Now onto the vocals and lyrics, the vocals here are done quite well. He has that light, higher, soft voice you hear in stuff like ELO and that. A nice clear voice makes you not miss a word and really just enjoy the music. With the lyrics, the band goes for messages of being happy, having a good life, while also having that feeling of wanting to see someone who wronged you, crash and fall. It's nice to see a band mostly focus on the good things, which not a lot of bands do. If you are looking for a single to this album, there isn't one, so just pick a song and give it a listen to get the feel of this album. Bronx Cheerleader is a band that by the name, you wouldn't think they sound the way they do. A nice older sound that gives you a nostalgic feel and still works well. We think they did a pretty good job on their debut welcome to album. He hope to hear more. Listen to this album to decide for yourself what you think of it.
