Ravenscode have released their debut full length album titled "District of Broken Hope." This album is one that puts the band into that heavier radio rock that is out there on the waves. If you are into a band like Three Days Grace of a Trapt, this band could really appeal to you. They have done a decent job on this album. When looking at the recording quality of this album, the album has been recorded fairly well while having that big rock sound to it. With the instrumentation on this album, it is pretty average but they can certainly play. Now onto the vocals and lyrics, the vocals have a pretty solid sound to them while being very clear and listenable. The lyrics here could use a little work to get more meaning of a powerful meaning to their lyrics, but they are not bad. If you are looking for a single to this album, give the song "Now & Then" your attention, as this song is the best on the album and gives you a good idea of the feel of the album. Ravenscode have done a solid job on their debut sort of welcome to album. it has something that fans of this style of music will will, but we do hope that with some progression, the band can make their next albums a little more their own sound.
