July's debut album is one that people are really going to like. This pop punk filled effort really brings you back to the pop punk we are all used to, with more focus on the playing and the pop. July really have a sound that could work well for them as not many bands are popping up and doing the standard pop punk anymore. If you are a fan of July previous to this, you will notice that three of the songs are from their EP that has already been released. The songs do not sound the same at all, so on the full length, you are only really getting eight new songs, which is still pretty good. When looking at the recording of this album, it has been recorded very well, has a great sound and shows off what the band is doing. The instrumentation here is also pretty good as the band shows that they can do a little more than just play. When looking at the lyrics, they have exactly what you are looking for when you put on a pop punk album as well. If you are looking for a single to listen to, "What We Signed Up For" as this is the best song on the album and really gets you set to listen to the rest. July have done a really good job on this album and it is something that is going to get their name out there and take them to a lot of places, so get on this band sooner than later. Listen to this album to decide for yourself if it really is really good.
